Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin fired back against Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday calling him a "silly little man" after he said that he was not interested in invading Alaska.
Putin downplayed the value of Alaska during a question-and-answer session in Moscow today, pointing out that it was a cold northern territory.
What would you need Alaska for? he said, advising Russians "not be overenthusiastic about the state.
Mr. Putin, such a silly little man on this matter of invading Alaska, Palin said in a written statement to Breitbart News, pointing out that it was obvious that Russia got screwed after selling the land to the United States in 1867 for $7.2 million.
Sure, in hindsight your czars of old may have felt you got screwed in the deal when Abraham Lincolns Secretary of State scored on this enormously resource-rich land for just seven cents an acre, but thats water under the former land bridge, she said

Putin is probably chuckling over the comment. His original comment was in jest and so was Sarah’s retort. It’s the sort of exchange I’d have expected if Reagan were President.

Methinks Gov. Palin has a bit too much class to ride bare-chested.

Be careful Sarah, you may have to deal with him President-to-President in the not too distant future.
(Hey, one can dream.)

Actually it was Lincoln's Secretary of State. Read your history and you will find that Johnson hands were tied by the Tenure of Office Act. When he tried to fire his Secretary of War, Stanton, he was impeached. The fact that there was no VP and the next in line was totally unacceptable to a majority of Senators led to him surviving by a single vote.
Alaska was purchased when Johnson was President but Seward was definitely Abe's guy.

Andrew Johnson became president in 1865. The Tenure of Office Act was passed in 1867.

I've never known Governor Palin to pull her punches. But I've gotta correct her here....Vlad Putin is a dangerous psychopath who has,in the last couple of months, brought Europe closer to war than she's been for 70 years.

Why do you have to remember history?? That's what books are for.
Remember...that teacher was using a book...

The land of “Seward’s Folly” has now officially become Putin’s PITA!!!
The beauty of being an American, speaking your mind, and having the American press parrot that thought, to the red ringing ears of one Vladimir Putin, who can do nothing to silence her!
To: BurningOak
Exclusive! A once half term governor from a sparsely populated state says something! Russian President is terrified! This is totally news! Well, considering that Shadow President Palin lives in President Barry MomJeans' head rent-free, yeah, I would say that it's news.

Putin is gay, so I really doubt he’d be interested in Sarah. Obama is definitely Putin’s type.

He can’t come out as gay, he’d be assassinated. It’s entirely what’s behind his tough guy, anti-gay thing. Self loathing.
Am I the only who remembers that very odd, but very telling, exchange with the young boy a few years back?
Way gay.

Well, Palin could not be any worst than “I can see his soul in his eyes” Bush or “more flexibility after the election” Obama. I am sure Putin will love meeting Sarah, and I am sure he will run rings around her like he does with all other US politicians. We need a President who loves this country AND has the brains and the ruthlessness to handle monsters like Putin.
This crap would not be happening if John McCain was in charge of our foreign policy, even if he sucks on domestic issues (granted we would fighting alongside Al-Qaeda in Syria). Far as I can see Angela Merkel is the leader of the free world.

Me neither, but Google does. Pretty weird. 32 sec
video.
Russian President Vladimir Putin finally answered questions about why he paused in a Kremlin courtyard recently to pull up a small boys shirt and kiss him on the belly. He seemed to me very independent, very serious, but at the same time a boy is always vulnerable, Putin told reporters. He was very sweet. Ill be honest, I felt an urge to squeeze him like a kitten and that led to the gesture that I made. There was nothing behind it really.
To: caveat emptor
In our culture, definitely weird. I really don’t know about the Russians however. Don’t the guys there kiss each other?
