RE: The Movement is funded, in part, by the Center for Voting and Democracy, a George Soros-funded election group.

Whew, for a moment I thought it was the Koch Brothers...

This WILL result in CWII insomuch as a war between states more than their people. The state’s ratifying this law are all part of the population centers near the nation’s coasts. The flyover folks (read: the better armed Americans) won’t stand for this crap.

I’m glad I don’t see my home state of Florida in the list.

If in effect it will break up the first time a Republican wins the popular vote.

This can be countered by states eliminating “winner take all” regarding electoral votes.

Democrats for decades have put all their constituencies into cities and their suburbs to swing states come election times.

Decouple the cities and democrats are doomed. Look at maps by congressional districts of Illinois, Pennsylvania, Florida, Michigan, etc.

The “compact” is legally unenforceable. The Constitution says that “No State shall, without the Consent of Congress... enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State...” (Article I, section 10).

Soros has also funded the "Secretary of State Project" to corrupt that office in as many of the 57 states as possible for the purpose of stealing elections.

Bear in mind that the Founding States had decided not to let the Senate and president be elected by general voters. The Progressive Movement successfully forced mob rule of the Senate when misguided state lawmaker ratified the ill-conceived 17th Amendment, and now Progressive Movement Democrats are trying to force the Oval Office under mob rule by destroying the electoral college.

And the carrot that the Progressive Movement is dangling in the faces of voters who have never been taught about the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers is the PC perceived powers of the federal government which are actually state powers which the corrupt feds have stolen from the states.

“...Maryland, New Jersey, Illinois, Hawaii, Washington, Massachusetts,
Vermont, California, New york, Rhode Island and D.C.
commit to select electors pledged to vote for the national
popular vote winner regardless of how their own state voted...”
-
Who just who is it that would be able to force them to uphold that commitment?

The problem with “popular” vote is that wherever you are, you will be voting against the cemeteries in Chicago. At least now, only folks in Illinois have to deal with that. Remember the number of Philadelphia precincts with >100% turnout? This will become rampant with the MSM remaining silent.

The twenty most populated cities will have enough votes to elect a president and make the thirty smallest states irrelevant.

The compact is a clear violation of the Constitution, (Article I, § 10), forbidding the States from making compacts and alliances, and particularly against any other State.

In the case of a dispute, such as in 2000, we might all wish Inauguration Day was still March 4.

It could be a real clusterf, making 2000 look like a walk in the park.

Electoral votes are established as ONE for each USRep and Senator.
A truly representative solution would be to cast electoral votes by congressional district, plus the two that reflect senators can be cast in accordance with the popular vote within the state.
That fixes a lot of crap, quick, fast and in a hurry.

Looks like there is no end to the communists takeover of America. I have a sick feeling that the communist Democrats will win all future elections.

The inevitability of this is going to backfire on them. As the Judiciary will then decide who gets what Electoral votes and they will base than on Proportional standards.

Once one state gives its electoral votes to the popular looser of the state, but popular vote winner overall, then it’s done for.

Remember, The votes need to be certified, so when the party in control of Congress certifies such an action, all hell will break loose, when an opposing party de-certifies based all hell will break loose as well.

you need a CONTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT to do away with the electoral process called for in the 12th amendment to the Constitution..

We are asking for BIG trouble. I am not unsympathetic to the district system like what is in NE and ME, but this is a prescription for a Second Civil War, due to the vote fraud rampant in the large cities in a very close election....
