Yep. In our house we have an Australian cattle dog and border collie mutt whose favorite hiding places is under the crib. She's about the best watchdog you could ask for.

GOTTA have two dogs. Dogs do NOT like being alone. They get apprehensive. Another dog, even a Chihuahua, is company.

My daughter has a 77 lb Ridgeback and a 65 lb pit mix. They are the quietest, sweetest dogs you can imagine. Both well trained and quite loyal. But if someone they don’t know comes in the yard (their territory), well if I was a stranger & stuck my head in the window, I would high tail it out of there.

As back up, a Remington shotgun, a 9mm and a 38 spl. And professional training on all.

I feel so much better with her living in a city, that she is well defended.
