"A group of Madera residents say they caught a burglar in the act. And they made him pay for his crime.
Madera Police responded to calls of a fight near North K St and 5th St around 5:20am Wednesday. When they arrived, officers found residents holding down the suspect, Jeremy Williams.
MPD says Williams, 37, has a long list of arrests and convictions and is currently on AB109 for receiving stolen property. Williams is being charged with burglary, violation of probation and posession of drug paraphernalia."

Winner!!
Act of Kindness. That may well go down with “Read my Lips, no new taxes”, “You didn’t build that”, “If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor” and others as the stupidest political blunder ever.
Too bad it still isn’t so. Any given medium to large size community in California has too many criminals.
Not in Madera.
Were it Oakland or Frisco, yes the perp would be released, and the residents charged with aggravated assault.
.
There is a horror story coming out of Southern California about two men who were raping and murdering women. And the men had ANKLE BRACELETS while they were doing it! More deaths of innocent people thanks to the liberals!
Years ago, I saw a story on the news about an incident in Detroit. Neighbors caught a guy burglarizing a house, one of many in the neighborhood. They said he was injured when he slipped on the ice. When the newsbabe asked one citizen how he broke both arms, a leg, his nose and several ribs, the older gentleman looked into the camera and said “It was awfully slippery ice.”
Public Humiliation Therapy.
Tsk tsk tsk. Maybe if someone had put some salt down that poor man wouldn’t have fallen.
“It used to be in small town America that if the local criminal element crossed the railroad tracks and caused trouble the town elders would get together and have an understanding with the troublemaker.”
My Dad said that in the small town he grew up in a guy raped a girl and was sent to jail.
When he got out of jail a group of guys caught him in an ally and shoved the biggest ear of field corn they could get up his a$$, WAY UP!
After a couple months in the hospital, the guy disappeared and was never seen again.
Forty years ago a friend of mine went to college in NYC. He lived in Brooklyn. He was of Sicilian descent as we’re most of his neighbors. Twice, while he lived there a body was discovered in the street next to a five-storey brownstone. In both cases it was someone who didn’t reside in the neighborhood and there were burglary tools found with the body. No one ever saw anything and the deaths were quite mysterious but everyone was certain of one thing. People really can’t fly but they can land.
EWWWWW!!!!
It does remind me of something I read in a book. It could have been Goodfellas. A suspicious person was in the neighborhood and tried to steal a purse from a lady. About 4 BIG Italian guys shoved him through a door in a three story apartment house, up the stairs, and off the roof. Generally, a pretty crime free neighborhood.
Sounds like he got his head right and wasn't cornfused anymore.
We had one in Bakersfield last summer. Guy was released and The first thing he did was go shoot his pregnant ( may have been ex) wife.
I’ve seen ears of field corn the size of a mans forearm and about as long.
And he was stomped pretty good before the discomforting event.
Exactly.
My stepdad told me that is how the old-timers would handle a situation like that
I’m surprised that Californians haven’t rediscovered lynch hanging of particularly nasty criminals. Even though this perp got roughed up, imagine the glee in the MSM if he was found dangling from a light pole?
And sadly nothing will change
