On April 15th the New York Police Department (NYPD) announced that its Muslim surveillance unit had been disbanded.
The surveillance unit came "under fire by community activists who accused the department of abusing civil rights."
According to the Associated Press, the surveillance unit "relied on plainclothes officers to eavesdrop on people in bookstores, restaurants, and mosques."
Starting in 2011, "the AP documented that police had systematically spied on Muslim neighborhoods, listened in on sermons, infiltrated colleges, and photographed law-abiding citizens as part of a broad effort to watch communities where terror cells might operate."

Standard NYPD psyops.
Did the unit spy on Zero?
If true....stupid.
Khrushcev was right !
.
And they wonder why over a million NY state residents have refused to “register” their personal safety devices?
England opens an investigation and we close shop!!

Great
Now they’ll have more time to intimidate American property owners
I have a hard time thinking it was a bad idea to spy on those who are most likely to be involved in terrorism.
Bill de Blasio the new communist mayor of New Beining has spoken
‘We will bury you”. Sigh, I won’t go quietly.
Smartest move since Obama took our missile defences out of Eastern Europe.
Islamic activists tell the NYPD to stop spying on them and they do it.
Hey Mr. Cop will turn your head for a second while I slip into this house for a bit? It’ll just be a few minutes because i have to back my truck up to the back door and I’ll be gone before you know it.
This whole surveillance program was a problem when it was revealed that the NYPD was sending its undercover officers all over the NYC metro area for this work ... including places in New Jersey and Connecticut where the NYPD has absolutely no jurisdiction at all.
well, that should certainly help relations.......O.K. I guess...
New Yorkers will get what they voted for.
I read somewhere that the NYPD has over one thousand officers dedicated to anti-terrrorism and preventing terrorist attacks. Since there have been no serious attacks since 9/11 then it’s pretty obvious that they must be doing something right. It was also reported that the unit being disbanded had not resulted in a single significant lead or a single arrest during the life of the program. If something doesn’t work why continue it? By my way of thinking it only makes sense to switch police officers from a program that isn’t generating results and assign them to programs that are working.
