A date and cabin locations have finally been chosen.
This years shoot will be October 18th. Once again it will be held in Seagoville, (5 miles south of Route 175 or 3.5 miles NE of I-45 (exit 270) on S. Belt Line Road). The plan at this time is to meet at Cotton Gin in Crandle for breakfast at 9:00 a.m., BUT they are currently closed due to a fire. Hopefully they will be reopened by October. If not, Plan B will be put in place. After breakfast we will all head to the range. A delicious lunch will be provided at the range by our wonderful FRiend cpdiii.
The cabins where we are staying are Miller Creek Ranch in Canton, TX. There is a map of the place Here
A block of cabins have been reserved under the name TexasCowboy Memorial Shoot. To reserve your cabin, call 866-488-6020 or 903-567-6020 They are reserved for Thursday the 16th through Sunday the 19th. Please let them know if you will arrive Thursday or Friday night. A $125.00 deposit is due at the time you make your reservation, with the balance due when you check in.
The cut off date for making your reservation is May 28th! Make reservations after that date at the risk of not getting a cabin.
The cabin numbers reserved for us are 10, 22, 24, 25, 77, 88, 89, 90, 92 and 102. #s 22, 24, and 25 are called Executive Cabins with lofts, they are $185.00/night and sleep 4-6 people; #s 10, 88, 89, 90 and 102 are Standard Cabins with lofts, they are $165.00/night and sleep up to 4 people; # 92 is a Standard Cabin without a loft and # 77 is handicapped accessible, those are both $150.00/night and sleep up to four. All the lofts, with the exception of #22, are only three feet high and each have two twin mattresses; the loft in #22 is five feet tall. Each cabin has a queen size bed and a queen size sleeper sofa.
No cars are allowed at the cabins, with the exception of the handicapped cabin. You can either use their concierge service to get to and from the cabins or rent a golf cart for $40.00/day. If you want to rent a golf cart it was suggested that you reserve one when making your reservation.
Extra cost included are a $5.00 resort fee (they normally charge this per day, but are only charging us a one time fee); Internet fee is $5.00/day.
Looking forward to seeing everyone in October!
Same here!
I’m truly excited!
Sweetest, beautiful you, darling ((((Mears))))
Thank you so much!!!
Watch the thread, (once we’re there) for pictures and I’ll try my level best to remind someone to ping you.
Well, we leave my house on I-20. It’s a mere 6 blocks away.
Can barely wait to see YOU!!!
Easy drive then...Take the S.Hulen exit and turn right...and yer almost there!
Safe travels Darlin’, Big hugs when I see ya...
Looking forward to your BIG HUGS!
I have your phone number, in case we get lost!
Hold yer punkinz till theys on sale.
Bring da brats.
I’ll get the onions and Mustard
I was going to lead them straight through Dallas from 20 to 80 to 30. Knocks off about 30 minutes to my house. You think they should go 20 to Hulen? Might be easier if one is not good with crazy Downtown Dallas traffic, but 20 south of town has more lanes. What should I tell them?
Yeah, it's a huge metropolis, but you'll be bypassing most of it on your route. The area where the shoot is, is pretty rural, and way outside the metro area.
Don't worry. I won't let anything keep me away from the big day :-)
Besides, it's only about 40 minutes from my house. Easy peasy. I've been saving up a big ole hug, just for you!
Yeah, this will be our first shoot. I'm really looking forward to meeting all my good Freeper friends!
I missed a lot of the posts upthread. Are we gonna wear those gummy backed name tags with our Freeper handles on them?
Onyx and KC are coming from Mississippi, aren't they? They'll never see Dallas proper, coming in from the east.
You’ve made me SMILE!!!
AND ALSO VERY HAPPY!
See you Saturday!!!!
Well, I probably owe you a couple hundred smiles, after all the ones you've given me :-)
See you Saturday!
We never have at other shoots that I have been to, but a really good idea! We usually get around to all meeting each other though.
Alrighty, then. I'll tell miss LibertyBel to pack a stack of gummy back labels and a sharpie!
Does Humblegunner wear a shirt like civilized folks, or will we have to stick it to his chest hair?
Safe travels you two!
Thank you so much, beautiful you!
KC_Lion is already on the road to come get me. :)
We’ll leave tomorrow morning to head to your great state and penelopesire’s fantastic home.
I’m bringing a .22 rifle, but I think I have enough ammo. :)
...and I’m bringing my little Colt .32 revolver. That’s it.
Y’all be safe! See ya mid-week! Sooo looking forward to it!
