Mozilla's CEO Brendan Eich is out. Eich is resigning as CEO and leaving the board of Mozilla, the open-source computing company that makes the Firefox browser.
He had been under fire for supporting anti-gay marriage legislation in California in 2008.
Some Mozilla employees had been calling for his resignation on Twitter for the past week.
Dating site OkCupid changed its home page so that if someone using Firefox came to it, it would tell them about Eich and suggest they switch browsers.

I posted that I had switched on their facebook site too and stated that their intolerance for people who support traditional marriage was why.

I saw a lot of people giving them heck for it. There were some liberals spewing hate and intolerance but there were a lot of people like us sharing opinions too. Personally, I hate what gays do and I know it’s wrong, but if they would just keep their personal lives to themselves and stop trying to force normal people to accept them and their ways, I wouldn’t bother them. I would just stay away from them. Instead, they push and push their evil ways on the majority of the population. I will never accept that lifestyle and the fact that they try to teach kids that it is OK to be gay infuriates me. They shouldn’t be anywhere around children of any age. It’s time we start pushing them back into the closet!

I websearched the news for okcupid, they sure got a lot of free publicity out of this deal.

Implications are those involved in Newsweek/Daily Beast could be involved somehow with the actions of OkCupid I would say.

Makes me wonder who is really behind these actions at okcupid. OkCupid isn’t even in the top 10 internet dating sights from one place I read. Another thread here said he could have gotten threats, maybe death threats even. Sounds possible like this:

They are teaching kids about it in a lot of schools but not my kid. My kid is 40 years old and feels the same way I do. :-) I don’t think the schools should children that it is OK. I’m in a very rural conservative area and it doesn’t happen as often here as it does other places. The majority of our local small town teachers are Christian and balk at teaching that kind of thing.
Homosexuals want people that don’t believe in that lifestyle to be afraid to talk about their point of view by threatening their jobs and livelihoods.
I’ve downloaded it and all was fine till I went to watch a show on Netflix. I needed to upgrade silverlight but had some complications that I’ll likely overcome tomorrow when my eyes are a little fresher.
What’s gone on now at Mozilla/Firefox has me almost physically ill. This sure ain’t the country I grew up in!
Things have changed drastically, and not for the better. This isn’t the country I grew up in, either.
