When California first put the issue of building a high-speed bullet train between Los Angeles and San Francisco before voters, Gov. Jerry Brown made all sorts of nifty-sounding promises about how efficient, convenient, and fiscally sound a choice the rail line would be for Californians.
All of those promises have more or less turned out to be a sham by now, as the trains costs have exploded and its deadlines pushed way back, and now it appears that that less-than-three-hour ride Californians were originally promised well, probably isnt.
...
who really considers a mounting wall of debt and a slew of unfunded pension liabilities a crisis?

The Bullet Train To Nowhere.
Film at 11.
It can’t go slower than promised because the ballot measure we passed requires it to.
Getting this:
Going to nowhere, fast.
It will never be built. Its the White Elephant of Trains. It doesn’t come anywhere near to justifying its exorbitant price tag.
Only liberals could love 19th Century transportation technology. This is the 21st Century version of the buggy and whip. Its dated.
And no one wants it.
They need to call Joe Isuzu!

It’s going to be decades before the train runs slow.
Nothing but an enormous land-grab scam.
Willie Green Memorial Ping.
The bullit train is only a mechanism to launder money. It doesn’t have to work as promised.
It was just another tidal wave of bullcrap from Calli politicians as usual. Bullet train my ass!
This entire project should be killed along with the careers of any and all of these idiots who are responsible for this boondoggle.
Or Barak Isuuzu
Do the math. $120,000,000,000/12,000,000 families in California = a brand new $10,000 car for every family in California. The $10,000 assumes a bulk discount when the state of Ca gives the purchase order for 12,000,000 autos to Toyota.
The reason bullet trains won’t work in this country is that it will take special track, completely segregated from all access. That means 20ft fencing the whole way to keep idiots from throwing objects at the train to see what will happen.
Kudos. I was wondering if there would be a Willie Green reference here.
The only thing high speed about this is Dianne Feinstein’s ballooning bank account.
10k doesn’t buy much of a car these days. But a boondoggle bullet train will funnel lots and lots of taxpayer money to unions, and lots of that money will end up in the democrats campaign coffers.
That’s really all this whole thing is all about.
Nerf Train
You mean Chevrolet, not Toyota, I think.
Government Motors could make the Kali’s a hell of a deal as long as the US is still intact and not broken up into several parts.
