I still dont understand why units were dispatched to the home.

The story says: "When the tree crew got near his house during day time hours they woke him up and he walked out shirtless to see what was going on.
According to CBS Connecticut, members of the cutting crew saw the tattoo of a gun on Smith's stomach and believed it was a real one."

It sounds to me like the man was at home. He certainly did not point the tattoo at anyone. If the man was at home on his own property with a gun, and it was not pointed at anyone... what was the nature of the emergency response?

From the NRA State Laws:

MAINE STATE CONSTITUTIONAL PROVISION

“Every citizen has a right to keep and bear arms and this right shall never be questioned.”
Article 1, Section 16.

By then "It is unlawful to carry any firearm concealed about the person without having a concealed carrying permit. This includes carrying in an automobile glove compartment, or other area where the firearm is under the person’s control. It is not unlawful to carry a firearm openly."

Would these fall under the tattoo most likely to end in getting shot over it?

That is even more stupid than "Gun Free Zone" signs.

Well he did have a gun drawn. Drawn on him by a tatoo artist, that is.

It appears that the latter paragraph violates the former.

Maybe he should tattoo his CCW permit next to it.

The guy with the tattoo should have called the cops on the tree cutters - after all, they had saws and axes.

I wonder what would have happened after the police showed up and he cut one loose, so to speak.

At some point we need to start fighting back with lawsuits against people who freak out about “guns.”

My goodness, this incident must fall under some sort of slander, false accusation, calling in a false alarm, ...with all the laws on the books there has to be something we can use against such idiots besides the “2nd Amendment,” as that is clearly NOT the true issue here...now is it?

It was a piece of ‘body art.’

I heard Cory Booker’s supposed stripper girlfriend had a pistol tattoo like that - is that her?

In the old days a car would have been sent around to check on the complaint. (A guy in his own yard with a gun on him. Big deal.)

Now the cops are such puffed-up pussies it takes a swat team.

In some places a gun tattoo will get you shot eagerly by police. The officer orders you to drop the gun on the ground. You do not instantly obey. You are instantly shot. The officer gets his paid vacation reward for righteously offing a citizen.
