Simferopol, Crimea (CNN) -- A day after Russia claimed Crimea as its own, there are signs the uneasy standoff between pro-Russian and Ukrainian forces could ignite into bloody conflict.
Almost 300 armed pro-Russian supporters took over the Ukrainian navy's headquarters in the Crimean port of Sevastopol on Wednesday, said Marina Kanalyuk, assistant to the commander of Ukraine's navy fleet.
"They are everywhere here, they surround us, they threaten us," she said, adding that she was sure that Russian security forces were involved.
Kanalyuk said the 70 or so Ukrainian naval officers at the headquarters had tried to stop the armed men from entering and were negotiating with them. She said that the armed men had replaced Ukrainian flags with Russian ones but that no shots had been fired.

For anybody studying the NATO strategy in Europe since 1949, with a special analysis on the period since 1991, that’s NOT the right answer.
Soros and Monsanto are just the tip of the European financiers. People don’t know that Soros is a bought and paid shill by the Rothchilds who gave him seed money to start his scavenging of the western world finances. Monsanto is a very interesting company with it’s huge involvement, a la Ukraine, with agriculture. I suspect there is a higher up connection somewhere. don’t forget that USA itself is caught up in this web by way of the Federal Reserve, not a USA property, controlling our money supply and use.
You're not giving folks around here very much credit if you honestly don't know the answer to that question.
For someone who’s got their hands so full dealing with domestic enemies and life changing issues here at home, you sure seem to have plenty of time to post a lot supporting Putin in the Crimea.
This was low-hanging fruit for Putin....Like Hitler marching into the Rhineland.
If you include a few dozen folks here, CNN is not alone.
Obama: “Wait till I get off the back 9 and I will issue another worthless red line proclamation that Igor will ignore.” Obama: America’s wimpiest president since Bill Klinton and Jimmuh “Billy Beer” Karter.
Maybe I’m not a mind numbed sheep to be pushed into war by George Soros and this administration over a piece of land that has been part of Russia for almost 300 years.
Yep, Comrade Obama has already sent Putin an email telling him he will have more leeway once the Tea Party is destroyed with the help of the Rinos.
Yes, I seem to remember something similar in Poland in 1939. Somehow, the Polish Officer class all succumbed to 'rapid onset lead poisoning' while in Russian captivity.
Sure, I'd most definitely trust Stalin's Putin's word, as a former KGB agent!

Gohmert: Ukraine Pits Community Organizer Against KGB Agent

The conflict between the United States and Russia over the fate of Crimea and Ukraine is a lopsided dispute that pits community organizer President Barack Obama against KGB agent Russian President Vladimir Putin, said Rep. Louie Gohmert.
“What you’re seeing is what you get when a community organizer takes on a KGB agent. It doesn’t go well,” the Texas Republican told “Fox & Friends” on Wednesday.
Or maybe you’ve got a thing for Putin and you get upset when anyone critisizes him for deploying troops in part of a neighboring country with the aim of taking it over.
Would you rather walk to work OR take your lunch?
It started with a huge LIE. In 1990, U.S. Secretary of State Baker made a commitment to president of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev that if he retired the Russian troops from Europe, "NATO would not expand one inch further East, not even into the former German Democratic Republic."
Gorbachev believed him and indeed retired 380,000 troops from Europe, and of course as soon as that happened, the sly USNATO broke their promise as fast as they could.
From now on, the only goal of NATO was to push eastward , right into Russia's ribs. For that they have used every paramilitary fascist, neo-nazi, or far-right nationalistic groups to break the slavic countries, traditionally and historically attached to Russia.
From the Ustashe in Croatia and Bosnia, the nationalist thugs in Serbia, and now the neo-nazi party svoboda and the nationalistic russophobic group Privy Sektor in Ukraine, NATO has broken Russia's natural allies.
The reason why US/NATO ar so interested in Crimea is that the Maidan's unlegitimate "president and prime minister" in Kiev, promised them to denounce the treaty with Russia concerning the Black Sea navy bases and to expel Russia from Crimea, and NATO install themselves there. With a new base in Crimea and Turkey, NATO would have controlled the Black Sea AND the Meditterranian Sea. In their wake the Soros-kind of sharks would appropriate for big money companies the wealth hidden in the Black Sea bottom ...
Well, Putin read through them like in an open book, and shattered their plan. Now NATO enrages that they "lost" Crimea, which was never theirs in the first place. That's why Kerry, Biden and Rasmunssen are foaming at the mouth.
“First mistake. Start with shooting”
Well, it seems the Ukrainian guys are not in suicidal mood. They didn’t have a bloody chance to escape alive, if they started shooting.
