Harris County sheriff's deputies in Texas are investigating after a father shot a 17-year-old boy whom he found in his teenage daughter's bedroom.
Officials said Friday the 55-year-old father has not been arrested and investigators will ultimately hand over their report to the grand jury to consider possible charges.
According to KHOU-TV in Houston, the incident began when the girl's brother went to say good night to his 16-year-old sister and saw a pair of feet sticking out from under the bed. The brother alerted their father, who went into the bedroom to investigate.
When the father confronted the boy -- identified as Johran McCormick -- his daughter denied knowing who McCormick was or why he was there. The father called 911 about 2:30 a.m., police said, and a confrontation with McCormick ensued.
According to KHOU, the father told sheriffs deputies that he saw McCormick drop his hands and he interpreted that as an attempt to grab something to attack him, so he shot the boy once.

“I felt threatened.” always, always, always works to get a cop off for shooting one of us.
always works to get a cop off for shooting one of us.
Yep.
Likely won’t be charged
Every father knows exactly what the boys who date their daughters are thinking because they used to be boys.
Yeah. “I felt threatened by that miniature french poodle who came over to sniff my ankle, so I blew it in half. And then the owner looked at me in a threatening way, so...”. But in this case the daughter said she didn’t know who the guy was under her bed. Although that ranks high on the BS meter, you never know. Now I’m uncertain which situation I should have nightmares about.
Another good reason not to :;&$;:/;:$)/,()/ outside marriage.
Poor kid, either way. A bit extreme.
Let this be a lesson.
1) Don’t fsck 16yo girls in their own bedrooms when their parents are home.
2) When little Susie’s (whose file system you’ve been checking) Dad had a gun on you IN HIS OWN HOUSE ... you’d best act real respectful.
3) Seriously ... don’t fsck 16yo girls. ESPECIALLY not in their home when everybody else is there.
4) Stupidity is supposed to hurt.
It was a black father shooting a black boy he found in bed with his black daughter otherwise the boy’s black momma would have a call in to Black Justice League and the Trayvonistas would be marching in the streets.
I begin tucking him into bed and he tells me, “Daddy, check for monsters under my bed.” I look underneath for his amusement and see him, another him, under the bed, staring back at me quivering and whispering, “Daddy, there’s somebody on my bed.”
You're right. About 15 other times. Wonder why this story is so fascinating to Freepers as to be posted so many times?
I guess they're right when they say, "If it bleeds, it leads."
A black father? At home? Protecting his family?
They exist?
/ sarcasm more or less
This is really stupid and there should have been a way out of it well short at killing somebody. If I’m on the jury this guy is gonna do at least some time.
Hopefully there won’t even be a trial
Well .. I guess I saw this in a movie somewhere, but the dad of the 16 year old tells the kid he doesn’t mind going back to prison for murder.
My daughter, even before she is 16, knows I will dispatch the fellow so she wont try it alternatively she don’t plan on a future with him....
The LAT reporting this Houston incident? Where is the Crock O’ Bull on this?
Seems to be a lot of activity for 2:30am on a school night.
Is it spring break?
Timmy?
