waiting for the obligatory trunks filled with “uncounted” ballots from districts with 108% reporting.
But of course. So what is your problem with lobbyists who petition government on behalf of citizens?
“waiting for the obligatory trunks filled with uncounted ballots from districts with 108% reporting.”
No Recount. Sink conceded.
I was too, but now in a more self-protective mood
Sink....Sank....Sunk.
“If he does, it just goes to show what an incredibly stupid Nation we live in to piss away hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars just to do it all over again in 8 months. One would think the Florida Assembly could have voted to delay the special election until the general election.”
You obviously have a great point, but I think it might also go to show just how powerful incumbency is. They may think winning now will make it much more likely in the fall (if that is what is going to happen).
in theory, none. In practice, I would want to know on behalf of which citizens he was lobbying for.
Again, I am not aware of any other Tea Party candidates or elected Tea Party individuals who have been identified as lobbyists.
Alex Sink sank substantially from her Pinellas Co. results in 2010, when she carried Pinellas with a plurality in the race for Governor. Hopefully, the liberals will stop throwing their money down the Sink drain. Trying again:
2010 Pinellas County Governor's Race
Sink 50.52%
Scott 44.87%
Other 4.6%
Much too close considering that Alex Sink backs Obamacare and this has been a solid republican seat for over 40 years.
But didn’t obama win last two elections?
If anyone saw her tv ad campaign, it was all about “bringing Democrats and Republicans together for the common good.” Everyone knows how well that’ pablum has worked for everyone who’s tried it! Her sappiness and goody two shoes attitude just didn’t do it for me.
I am surprised it was so close. Isn’t that a conservative district?
Even though Bill Young held that seat for 1000 years I thought it was lost. Pinellas County had appeared to go to the dark side going for Zero twice. Jolly was the Young family’s handpicked candidate although if I lived there I would have voted for his primary opponent.
However, Sink is a carpetbagger; she used to live in Hillsborough County and moved to Pinellas solely to run for this seat...people don’t like that. She’s a shrill and unattractive woman besides, for those who are shallow.
But mostly I hope it was, as you point out, an anti-Obamacare bellweather. I’m sure this result has the Dims shaking in their boots because by all appearances the seat was Sink’s.
Like it or not, a Paul /Cruz ticket may be our best chance to win in 2016, if they ever kiss and make up.
We will have to find more missing votes also, if this is the way they want to play
Thanks for the correction.
And WOW! What a difference.
Anyway, good to see that the RAT lost. I find it amusing that did lousy in a county SHE WON during her failed campaign for Governor.
>> Democrat wins by 2% - "It's a Mandate !!!" Republican wins by 2% "It's a squeaker with no wider implications." <<
Yep. Also:
Democrat wins by plurality = "A win is a win. The people spoke, they didn't want to take us back to the George W. Bush era and Repug policies".
Republican wins by plurality = "He has NO mandate. The fact still is that the MAJORITY voted AGAINST the Repuke".
bttt
Actually what they point out is that libertarians like conservative economics, and are liberal on social issues and national defense, and want to move the GOP left and end conservatism.
They desire a different party platform and different candidates, rinos and anti-conservatives who are still good on money issues.
This stands without challenge.
Sure, there'll be some b!tching and moaning, but no suit and no recount.
