FULL TITLE:
Special Conditions: Boeing Model 777-200, -300, and -300ER Series Airplanes; Aircraft Electronic System Security Protection From Unauthorized Internal Access
EXCERPT:
Discussion
The integrated network configurations in the Boeing Model 777-200, -300, and -300ER series airplanes may enable increased connectivity with external network sources and will have more interconnected networks and systems, such as passenger entertainment and information services than previous airplane models. This may enable the exploitation of network security vulnerabilities and increased risks potentially resulting in unsafe conditions for the airplanes and occupants. This potential exploitation of security vulnerabilities may result in intentional or unintentional destruction, disruption, degradation, or exploitation of data and systems critical to the safety and maintenance of the airplane. The existing regulations and guidance material did not anticipate these types of system architectures. Furthermore, 14 CFR regulations and current system safety assessment policy and techniques do not address potential security vulnerabilities which could be exploited by unauthorized access to airplane networks and servers. Therefore, these special conditions are being issued to ensure that the security (i.e., confidentiality, integrity, and availability) of airplane systems is not compromised by unauthorized wired or wireless electronic connections between the airplane information services domain, aircraft control domain, and the passenger entertainment services.
For the reasons discussed above, these special conditions contain the additional safety standards that the Administrator considers necessary to establish a level of safety equivalent to that established by the existing airworthiness standards.
There’s really nothing much to be gained that isn’t already public knowledge about any civilian aircraft manufactured today, from stealing one. All parts and assemblies are well documented and drawings are on file.
No, if this aircraft was hijacked, it was done to be a terrorist threat, not a industrial espionage incident...................
Why would China kill their own people..almost half of the passengers were Chinese nationals
I’m not sure if I’m reading this correctly but if true, the plane was some 300 miles from where it should have been flying low in the wrong direction.
I guess they were able to engage the cloaking device as well.
Yes, I heard that as well.
If it were electronically hijacked, it would be flying to its captors’ destination and flying low to avoid radar. Once it was over 200 miles from shore, it would be at the fringes of radar from ground stations. Flying low it could have crashed in the Indian Ocean, hundreds of miles from where it was last reported, when it ran out of fuel, or taken a sudden dip into the water......................
That, in and of itself is CREEPY!......................
If they were flying very low over the open ocean, greater than 200 miles from land based radar, a cloaking device would not be necessary..................
Key question:
Where are the Black Box pingers?
I haven’t heard that there were any phone calls from passengers on board. I know its become pretty routine for multiple passengers to chatter on the phone while the plane is in flight.
‘Looking for buddies to share this passion.”
Two Iranians apparently answered the call......................
That is a game changer.
I wish you would start a seperate thread on this new information._Tom
Hopefully still intact inside the aircraft where they are supposed to be................
The pinging does not start until they get wet, IIRC..................
“Why would China kill their own people..almost half of the passengers were Chinese nationals”
If it was terrorism, that is an act of war against China, and I doubt they will be wringing their hands about TV Pundit Opinion, and Soros-financed leftists screaming “NO BLOOD FOR OIL!!”
FOX news just reported that the plane was flying west and low.
If a hacker had control of the systems on board, all he would have to do is disable the cell phone links so that they could not call out...................
Who would they declare war against? Iran? Al-Queda? Terrorism in general?.............We tried that...................
May be something related to the mystery or it could just be a guy who is very big on flying....wait for more info...who knows how many pro/amateur pilots have some sort of home based flying simulation system. But wow that is some self made sim he had at home...
