So Rand Paul has finally completed his transformation into a "party first" loser, eh?

What a hypocrite!

Flashback to February 2011:

Rand Paul: “No Compromise”

And then January 2012:

“The Republican Party is an empty vessel unless we imbue it with values,”Rand Paul told a roaring crowd of 1,000 Friday at a Nashua airport hangar. “Just any Republican won’t do. That’s what this primary is about.”

Perhaps he's another Rubio.

I don’t trust Rand Paul.

I trust Ted Cruz.

End of story.

The debate over how to respond to the crisis in Ukraine has highlighted a split between the two senators who are largely in step on domestic policy. In interviews last week, Paul said he is wary of giving money to Ukraine due to its history of corruption while Cruz said he will wait to see what comes out of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

How is that a "split"? There is nothing contradictory there. Sounds like politico is desperate to gin up a fight between Cruz and Rand Paul.

Here is another Ted Cruz “I told you so”.
I don’t trust Rand Paul any more than I did his father.

I have no trouble with people choosing between Rand Paul and Ted Cruz. Just don’t choose someone who takes away from their combined popularity.

Maybe Rand Paul agrees Romney or McCain would have won if Republicans just passed amnesty.

I think Rand Paul is an atheist. I’ll stay home before voting for an atheist.

So maybe the apple doesn’t fall too far from the Paul family tree. Cruz looks better every day.

Rand Paul and McConnell are a separate part of the GOP from Cruz.

“McConnell: We’re Going to ‘Crush’ Tea Party Candidates in GOP Primaries This Year”

“Tea party group calls on Sen. McConnell to drop out”

“McConnell, who was elected to the Senate 30 years ago this year, tried to shore up some tea party support by appearing with his fellow Kentucky Republican Senator Rand Paul Monday.”

“MARCH 28, 2013—“Rand Paul has endorsed McConnell,” Jesse Benton, McConnell’s 2014 campaign manager, told The Daily Caller.”

I fear that our primaries are going to be an awful re-run of 2012

During the primaries in the last presidential election he called Hannity’s radio program to tell him something. Hannity thought it was about legislation. When Hannity let him on the air he said he called to announce that he wrote an op-ed against Gingrich. Hannity was ticked. He told him that he thought he was calling about legislation. A few minutes later Paul Rand went on Fox and said his dad would be the one who could get the independents. I have not cared for his methods of operandi since then. This really takes the cake.

Here are Paul’s exact words without anyone’s slant or interpretation to them.

His actual words sound much more reasonable than the original article portrays.

He's got the Reagan part right.

Ted Cruz was getting a little ahead of the reality of Reagan.

Don't get me wrong, I like both of them...but for different reasons.

Ronald Reagan’s Eleventh Commandment was, ‘’Never speak ill of a fellow Republican.’’ So here is Rand Paul, not merely speaking ill of a fellow Republican, but attacking a fellow CONSERVATIVE Republican.

If Rand Paul keeps this up, he’ll alienate so many decent people he won’t be able to help put Mitch McConnell over the top in his Senate race.

“The Republican Party is an empty vessel unless we imbue it with values,”Rand Paul told a roaring crowd of 1,000 Friday at a Nashua airport hangar. “Just any Republican won’t do. That’s what this primary is about.”

Paul was talking in general terms. Not naming names, which is what he objected to.

Cruz may not be helping himself if he wants to run. What plays well with committed partisans on the Internet doesn't always work well with off-line voters.
