Kerry Kennedy acquitted of drugged driving in New York WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Kerry Kennedy was acquitted Friday of drugged driving in a July 2012 incident in which she accidentally took a sleeping pill and then sideswiped a truck in a wild highway drive she said she didn't remember.
Kennedy hugged and clasped hands with her lawyers as a six-person jury cleared her of driving while impaired, a misdemeanor. It had carried the potential for up to a year in jail, though that would be unlikely for a first-time offender.

Another addition to the Kennedy Museum of Moving Violations.
She should have gotten convicted of a felony and at least received accidental probation. That way when she gets her third strike she can go directly to jail, not pass go, and not collect her $200.
We should all pray that we don’t cross the street just as KK comes barreling down in her car.

Drive it like youre Joe Dirt Kennedy !
I’m guessing here, but I imagine this went to trial because Kennedy refused to do a plea bargain/diversion program/whatever they do in NY for most DWI cases.
I accidentally drank a six-pack once. Good to know if I had driven home, I could have been given a pass.
Both sides agreed that she had taken the Ambien by accident. The State’s only case then was to prove that she had plenty of warning to pull over as the pill took effect. But she was too high to realize it. Once the prosecution agreed that she took the Ambien by accident the case was over- unfortunately.

Anyone surprised? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
Its called a ‘Glitch” in rat lingo.
Seriously though, what do youse guys think of a Kerry/Kerry 2016 ticket?
Ban Ambien from all Kennedys. Let them find another alibi.
Well, count me as surprised.
Keep her away from the beach or the swimming pool...
It’s good to be a Kennedy
The Kennydies? They’ve suffered enough!
"If I realized I was impaired, I would have pulled over," Kennedy testified.
I would have voted guilty based on the lunacy of the last line alone.
Even if it was an ‘accident’ that she took an Ambien instead of thyroid medication, it’s still HER responsibility to take the meds properly. Luckily, she hurt no one............this time........................
