Those who lollygag in the left lane of highways and interstates could be ticketed under legislation approved in the state House on Wednesday. House Bill 459, by Rep. Bill Hitchens, R-Rincon, was approved 162-9.
The bill makes it a misdemeanor for any driver on a divided highway who does not move to the right when a car going faster approaches from behind.

What if you are in the left lane, driving the speed limit, and some jerk comes along doing 10-15 MPH over the speed limit. Do you still have to pull over?
And people driving in the rain without their lights on.
My thoughts exactly. It makes me seeth to get behind a huge slowpoke, but I’ll eat the time rather than give the government a revenue source and rights diminishment opportunity (in the latter case because some tool will eventually come up with taking your 2A rights for misdemeanors).
how about private roads that set their own rules and you choose which to take.
get government out of schools, roads ,everything
we need separation of gov and the economy
government just needs to leave us , our kids etc. alone
only military and border control for the federal gov
local govs can deal only with laws that prevent the use of force (assault, murder, kidnapping, stealing) etc. and just courts to act as referees where individuals can settle disputes of contracts , land, etc. courts with jury’s of your peers not gov morons deciding what’s right at any level. gov schools are an abomination, so is the EPA,IRS etc. No one can be deprived of their right to freedom, privacy , property with out the due process of law in a court of law and judged by a jury of your peers. government morons can NEVER make any law that doesn’t deal with protecting property rights or preventing force. government education? no way, gov healthcare and charity ? by what right do these democrat/government goons have to deprive us of our rights and property (half our income) to do fake global warming studies? so yes patents , property rights, no stealing , no murder, no harrassment etc. those can be written in a few laws, a few pages. everything else is not the province nor business of government.instead there are room fulls of laws that impose tyranny on us
It depends. Can you resist beating people to death for "failure to grovel?" Shooting dogs? Yes? Then here's your badge.
;^)
They are busy having an important conversation on their cell phones. You must be a sexist to question them! < / sarcasm >
How about tickets for those who pass on the right going over the speed limit?
That's already here. Ever heard of the "Lautenberg Amendment?"
I agree, excepting carpool lanes.
Why wouldn’t you?
That’s my reaction too. It should be a ticketable “infraction” that can only be elevated to a misdemeanor IF the defendant demands a jury trial.
??.er..yes, that's the point. The left lane is for passing.
YES!!!
And not only for Jerks, but for parents trying to get their injured kid to the hospital.
no more laws, no more government . we have too much already of that. get gov out of roads, schools, economy etc. .private roads can set their own rules , and then you can choose which to take. the rest of my post:

Round here the legions of reckless drivers think you’re “lollygagging” if you’re going the speed limit.
“Even if you yourself are exceeding the speed limit by say 5 MPH? If so you will be guilty of enabling someone to exceed the speed limit even more.”
THE dumbest thing I have heard all day.
And to answer you, YES, even if you are exceeding the limit by 5 mph. When did YOU get to decide how fast everyone else must go?
Look behind you sometime when you're cruising along happily in the left lane at the traffic stacking up. You're actually a road hazzard.
Why are there speed limits and cops with radar guns?
Chewing gum with their mouth open.
We just don't have enough stupid laws already!
Except for here is Pennsylvania. Here, ANY lane is for passing, even if that lane is on the right. :-)
