North CA would trend Blue - or maybe libertarian - as its heavily dominated by the pot growing industry.

Two or three would make more sense, though. Norcal and the central valley have very little to do with each other.

“The average Russki, son, don’t take a dump without a plan.”
This is all about getting 12 Senators instead of 2.
Call them anything you want but Stupid and Poor doesn’t describe them.

hispanics have so much control in southern CA and every lowlife in politics (which is most politicians) panders to them. I could see the fools going along with a "Mexican" Spanish speaking state. And then you've got the Hollywood lunatic fringe who will want a state. And you'll have SanFrancisco wanting to have complete 100% rights for whales, dolphins, and all alternative lifestyles. You've got techie billionaires who will want their own lala land of submission to the matrix.

What's my point? There are so many lunatics in CA that sway so many other lunatics in DC, I could see something insane coming out of this.

The only good thing is that there would be so many states, if a lot of states want to break up, that the federal government won't be able to "accomplish" anything.

I have lived in Kalifornia (on-and-off) since 1947. I currently reside in Riverside County. This county, and several others, trend Republican. We have large land areas, but the Los Angeles and San Francisco metro areas outnumber us in population and votes. They vote Democrat. Those two metros control the state government and policies.

The Supervisor of Riverside county has been trying to break away and form
“South California” for a few years. It would exclude LA county, and it would be predominantly red. Moonbeam Brown wouldn’t be able to take from us to subsidize his more loyal constituents in LA and SF.

Breaking up isn’t going to happen, because it would benefit conservatives much more than liberals.

I know it is not reasonable to think this is going anywhere.

But someone in Silicone Valley thinks it is a good idea.

Go figure.

I have always thought that Boulder County Colorado and Travis County Texas should be one state.

Uh, thanks but no thanks. Will cede you Camden and Trenton and Essex to New York. It will be much easier that way and surer to go Conservative thanks.

Texas will never divide into more pieces. Texas was bonded together as a nation before it was a state.

That is what enduring oppression does to a people.

Pride alone will prevent breaking up Texas.

Gee why split the state? Those certain counties look to be under democrat control so what’s the difference. You would not gain anything except more democrat fools.

San Francisco is bad news, so is San Diego and Los Angeles, no?

SF is liberal hell. LA is little Mexico now as far as the vote goes. San Diego just elected a Republican mayor..

The vast majority of the rest of the state is red. There are a couple other blue areas on the north coast around Eureka but the rest of the state will go red every time. As I said the worst case scenario for the right is a push. If the balance changes it will be a senate step to the right.

This is also be why splitting this state is such a long shot.

The map for this looks to this Californian designed to keep 5 of the segments democrat, giving possibly on conservative district as a bone.

To counter,

Divide Texas into 12 states. Divide Alaska into 3 states.
