OXFORD, Miss. — The FBI on Tuesday was helping investigate who tied a noose around the neck of a University of Mississippi statue of James Meredith, who, in 1962, became the first black student to enroll in the then all-white Southern college.
University police on Sunday morning found the rope noose and, on the statue’s face, a pre-2003 Georgia state flag with a Confederate battle symbol, said campus police Chief Calvin Sellers. Two men were seen near the statue early Sunday and investigators were looking at surveillance footage.
“It’s a racial hate crime,” Mississippi NAACP president Derrick Johnson said Tuesday after a news conference at the state Capitol. “At what level do they get prosecuted? I don’t know. But as long as we tolerate hate, we will continue to revisit history and the past of this state, and at some point we must move forward.”

I can’t remember a recent event like this where the perpetrator was not the victim or part of the aggrieved group.
If itturns out to actually be a “racial hate crime”, you can lay the blame squarely at the feet of Barack Hussein Obama.
A noose and a confederate flag ... yep, that proves who did it, alright. Someone stupid. Probably a leftist, but one should interview the Ole' Miss chapter of the Klan as well, just for due diligence.

I’m gonna go ahead and predict that when the perpetrator is found, not only will they be a member of the supposedly aggrieved group, but it will be excused because it helped create a “dialogue” on race.
I’d start by investigating members of the racist NAACP. If that turned up nothing, try interrogating members of Holder’s Just-Us department.
I think they should set up a bunch of TSA agents to frisk every kid going back and forth to class.
