>>At issue was legislation to raise the debt ceiling essentially paying the nations credit card bill
No, raising the debt ceiling is essentially opening up a new credit card account because all the old ones are maxxed out! The Republicans have sold us out and now both parties are officially driving us over the Cloward-Piven cliff.

Why is it ALWAYS about the EXEMPT who arm al Qaeda and impose “laws” for others ??
The un-EXEMPT non-Moslem American people had another
bad week.

McConnell hasn’t seen anything yet.

As long as we can keep the seat Republican, I don’t care what happens to McConnell politically.

McConnel, like most other long-term DC politicians, is probably so compromised he/they are ripe for blackmail. Remember it seemed to have become really apparent after the Clintons/DNC gained access to over 600 (more like 900) “oppositional research” files on their opponents/enemies.

How long do you think it will be before Cruz does SOMETHING conservatives don’t agree with and everyone here turns on him and calls him a RINO?
I am guessing a year and a half.

Most in KY probably don’t eve know of the events of the past week in DC. Or they wouldn’t understand if they did know.

Then Ted Cruz happened.
YES HE DID.
And he was about the only one that did.
I know you could argue that the Repubs were trying to get this thing out of the way, so the Dems and their media boot-lickers can't tar them with "they're just obstructing the black man" - and, indeed, the focus is now fully on the joblessness and the ObamaCare disaster - but it's still not a good feeling giving the spendaholics what they want.

Sooner, I’m thinking. It’s a “fickle” world.

The only real mistake a Republican seeking conservative cred can make these days is to go soft on amnesty.
Amnesty means changing the American culture or allowing it to be changed by invading hordes of illegals voting illegally. You’re either against that possibility, or you’re not.

raising the debt ceiling is essentially opening up a new credit card account because all the old ones are maxxed out! Exactly. "But that spending was already authorized!" Yes, it was authorized to be more spending than there was money available to pay for it. "But look, it's all in the budget!" Until recently, there was no budget at all, just fraudulent "continuing resolutions" that were in deficit from day one; currently, most of it is in a budget that was in deficit from day one, and there's an unknowable amount of "off budget" spending for emergencies and so-called emergencies that never see the light of day.
