Anything to prevent a Paul or a Cruz. They must have a new Bush or Dole or McCain or Romney, whoever fits the bill...so they can continue to pretend be in opposition to the democrats.
Very well put cotton1706.
Huckabee?
NOT EVEN!!!
Huckabee repulses the Republican establishment. There is no chance it would ever risk getting behind him.
Now, one could make the case the liberal media is pushing Huckabee to divide the conservative vote and prevent a Scott Walker or Ted Cruz from winning the nomination.
so they can continue to pretend be in opposition to the democrats

I think the GOPe deception game is nearing its end. A lot of people now see them for what they are: weak, unprincipled, and totally lacking in conviction.
Time for changing of the guard.
The Establishment does not like Mike Huckabee. He is the opposite of what they want: Socially Conservative and Fiscally Moderate. He would appoint very Conservative judges to the Supreme Court.
The GOP-E wants Fiscally Conservative, Socially Liberal or Libertarian candidates who will produce a Supreme Court with a majority of Socially Liberal, Fiscally Conservative Justices.
He may not be my choice, or a Freeper favorite, but he is definitely NOT a GOP-E darling.
“Favorite” is a tricky term here. It may just mean somebody who’s available and hasn’t been eliminated yet. Very few people — even in the “Establishment” (whatever that’s supposed to mean nowadays) — are that enthusiastic about Huck. I’d say the same was true of Chris Christie, but Ann Coulter (Establishment?) really did like the guy.
Follow the money. Amnesty pimp Adelson was Newt’s big backer. Huckabee would be the conservative vote sapping stalking horse for a RINO type like Christie.
Yawn. Hucka-who?
The GOP-E loathes Huckabee. They just want to use him... whisper sweet-nothings in his ear, puff him up. All calculated to split the social conservatives away from the tea-party element, weakening them both.
Huckabee is probably too clueless to notice how he’s being played. He’s always toadying up to the establishment, aspiring to have a voice with them, at the expense of the tea-party grassroots, as it is.
They must also have effective candidates to split the conservative vote as many ways as possible in addition to manipulating rules in conservative states to diliute delegate strength while making RINO states winner take all or preventing committed delegate slates from running committed to a conservative candidate like they do here in Pennsylvania.
Huckabee will fold when he is called RINO.
Great another RINO retread.
Huckster-bee vs. Hill-liar-y in ‘16? Might be time to head for a certain hidden location deep in the mountains of Colorado.
Anything to prevent a Paul or a Cruz.

It’s a shame the Prez and Vice Prez candidates can’t be from the same State. I’m sure Rand Paul would want to pick his buddy Mitch McConnell, whom he has endorsed for the KY Senate Race, for his running mate. Damn the luck!
Hell yes I’m bitter over is endorsement!
I promise to actively work against any RINO the party may nominate.
No more McCains or Romneys.
I will vote Libertarian or Constitution party. That’ll make ‘em hurt. The bastards don’t get to just be Democrats in pretty dresses and get my vote or support.
Gawd, I’m tired of this junk. Christie? Huckabee? Bush? PHHHHHTTTT!!!!
There is a plus side to all of this: The “It’s his turn” meme is now completely broken, and someone can freely be chosen. This is the nexus in GOP defeat in the last few decades of running for President: “It’s his turn.”
Bush 1988: It was his turn.
Bush 1992: It was his turn. He was the incumbent. He lost.
Dole 1996: It was his turn. He lost.
Bush 2000: He bucked McCain, who’s turn it was. He won.
Bush 2004: It was his turn. He was the incumbent. He won.
McCain 2008: It was his turn. He lost.
Romney 2012: It was his turn. He lost.
I see a pattern here. When a Pubbie gets the nomination who bucks the “turn,” he wins.
Scott Walker, maybe, but no vote for anyone else.
I ain’t voting for another RINO! I’ll write in who I want.
Can he even get viewers on FOX?
