The Establishment does not like Mike Huckabee. He is the opposite of what they want: Socially Conservative and Fiscally Moderate. He would appoint very Conservative judges to the Supreme Court.
The GOP-E wants Fiscally Conservative, Socially Liberal or Libertarian candidates who will produce a Supreme Court with a majority of Socially Liberal, Fiscally Conservative Justices.
He may not be my choice, or a Freeper favorite, but he is definitely NOT a GOP-E darling.

You’re missing the point of their game, which is to lose to the democrats.
Huckabee is a no hoper who would just distract from viable conservatives like Paul and Cruz. The GOPe could use him like they used Newt to grease the slate for Mittens.
