Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas) said Tuesday night that he left President Obama's State of the Union speech early after "hearing how the President is further abusing his Constitutional powers."
"I could not bear to watch as he continued to cross the clearly-defined boundaries of the Constitutional separation of powers," Stockman said in a release shortly after Obama's speech ended. "Needless to say, I am deeply disappointed in the tone and content of tonight's address."
Stockman said he was reacting to Obama's promise to "break his oath of office and begin enacting his own brand of law through executive decree."
"This is a wholesale violation of his oath of office and a disqualifying offense," said the Texas congressman.
Stockman also criticized Obama for refusing to admit "his policies have failed," and for advancing a plan for more taxes and spending that is a "blueprint for perpetual poverty."
The Tea Party-backed congressman had missed weeks of House votes and hadn't been campaigning in Texas for his race against Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas). After tweeting that people could "find out Monday" where he'd been, Stockman resurfaced this Monday to say he'd been on a House-sanctioned international trip and blasting reports saying had been missing.
Other Republican members had similar reactions to Obama's promise to do by executive order what he can't get done legislatively in Congress.
"Unfortunately, what I heard from President Obama tonight was hostility toward our foundational principles, condescension toward a co-equal branch of government, and a general aversion to common sense and bipartisanship," said Rep. Raul Labrador (R-Idaho).
"The President's attempt to intimidate Congress by abusing executive power demonstrates a serious unwillingness to work with the coequal legislative branch of government," said Rep. Gregg Harper (R-Miss.).
Every last Congress critter should have walked out.
WHEN will someone STEP UP and DO SOMETHING?
But then, maybe they didn't know where he was.

G_d bless Texas and Rep. Stockman.
Don’t know, but we can guess he probably was. Stockman for senate!
Zero’s headed to Wisconsin as we speak to rally his RATS there.
Liberals always tell you what they fear most.. zero fears Walker’s success and intends to stamp out any satisfaction Wisconsin rats are having with the turnaround of the State.
The Russians notified Stockman just how much of a fraud little barry bastard boy IS during his recent quiet visit to same. I don’t think I would have been able to stomach the lies from little barry either.
Texas and Stockman. I like the sound of that.
While Steve was having to sit through “King” Obama’s proclaimation of State, I was “pinch hitting” for Cong. Stockman at the Comal County Federal and State candidates forum.
To my surprise, I lead off the long list of candidates/spokesmen.
I let them know that 2 of the Senatorial candidates where in Washington attending the State of the Union Address: Congressman Stockman looking out for Texas’ interests and the incumbant, Sen. Cornyn looking out for Washington’s interests.
Sounds kinda lame but - I stand with Stockman!
sounds like Corn-pone was really missing
Cornyn’s radio ads make me want to puke.
We have not forgotten what you did to Cruz.
“Every last Congress critter should have walked out.”
AND the generals, AND the justices......

Good. Cornyn can go piss up a rope. I have not forgotten Cornyn’s devotion to Charlie Christ. Rubio sucks too (now) but Charlie was/is worse.
I suspect that Rep. Stockman is not going to follow through and initiate impeachment of Obama.
