Comatose for the last eight years after a stroke, former Israeli leader Ariel Sharon has died.

He died 8 years ago. I’m glad they have stopped torturing him. I’m afraid for Israel - they need a new generation of warriers with spines to rise up after Netanyahu - but unfortunately they are going the way of the US - metrosexuals with no morals or spine....

During the fighting he was ordered to retreat but never received the message due to his radio having failed. That was what kept him in the front lines for days on end.

On behalf of the American people, Michelle and I send our deepest condolences to the family of former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and to the people of Israel on the loss of a leader who dedicated his life to the State of Israel. We reaffirm our unshakable commitment to Israel’s security and our appreciation for the enduring friendship between our two countries and our two peoples. We continue to strive for lasting peace and security for the people of Israel, including through our commitment to the goal of two states living side-by-side in peace and security. As Israel says goodbye to Prime Minister Sharon, we join with the Israeli people in honoring his commitment to his country.
As a general and defense minister, he was a George S. Patton all the way.
In the Yom Kippur War (1973) he cut right through the middle of the Egyptian attack and cut off their army on the southern flank.
His tanks could have gone all the way to Cairo.
In the early 80’s he masterminded the offensive into Lebanon that cornered Arafat and his PLO terrorists on the Beirut waterfront.
