[history]
According to The Huffington Post, Congressional Democrats released a study Thursday that demonstrated how Wal-Marts wages are so low that many of its workers must rely on food stamps and other government aid programs, costing taxpayers as much as $900,0000 at just one Wal-Mart Supercenter in Wisconsin.
The report, The Low-Wage Drag on Our Economy, was produced by Democrats with the House Committee on Education and the Workforce.

lol.
It is exactly the issue. These people are free to seek higher paying jobs elsewhere, are Democrats now calling for an end to food stamps for the working poor too?
Are they so heartless that they want these people to be unemployed?
Because that is what they want.

The Democrat answer is to have nobody work and to receive all sustenance from the big daddy government. There will be the super-rich getting government contracts and wealthy politicians getting funds from the super-rich getting government contracts and then there will be the dirt poor 99% begging for an increase in the chocolate ration from 30 to 25 grams.

I love those who throw out these accusations about Wal-Mart. My son worked there for 4 years going to college. Yeah, crummy job, but, as it should be. Motivated him to move on.
No bennies? Please. His insurance costs were less than mine. He got a “guaranteed” pay raise every year, just for successful performance, of at least 0.40/hr. That is better than what I get at times. After he left, Wal-mart sent him a $400+ check from either a 401K or ESPP. He had no idea and it was a nice surprise.
Finally, tell me of how many other retailers are doing better? When he looked for another job closer to the college he was attending, JCP was offering $4 less an hour than he was making, and employment was contingent on his selling enough credit cards. Target was offering $3 less an hour.
$3 less an hour.
Please pay attention to this. Wal-Mart may not make employees on the ground floor rich, but they employ young men when many other retailers won’t. And they pay well compared to their counter parts. And there are bennies, as so many like to claim don’t exist, that are very affordable.

The left sure gets creative in finding ways to attack those who don’t line up with them.
Attack food stamps, not employers.

Wally World keeps it's wages dirt cheap--while the Waltons are sitting on untold billions and billions of dollars--and instructs its workers how to go on the dole! McDonalds does the same thing.I love the smell of toasted marshmallows in the morning.

So if they did not work there how much assistance would they be on? And of course, since you included them, most Mcd’s are franchises who can decide to pay what they want, but you know that right? And why not continue your rant against the majority of fast food businesses and target, kmart, sears, et al? You want socialism, a sharing of wealth to the proletariat? Start out by listing all the successful countries where that works.

Here is the real question. Would they work at Walmart for the wages they are offered if the Tax payer subsidies didn’t exist?
Putting up a sign that points to the “free food” doesn’t make Walmart a horrible company in my eyes.

Kansas, I think you have Mr. Murphy wrong here.
He said, "So speaks the 99%."
Which was in response to the zotted OP's
"Wally World keeps it's wages dirt cheap--while the Waltons are sitting on untold billions and billions of dollars--and instructs its workers how to go on the dole! McDonalds does the same thing"
He was referring to the occupotties, not that 99% of the people are against WalMart.

I’m late to this thread, but any crapola that starts with “According to The Huffington Post...” sets my zot radar in motion.
Then I see your comment and your signon date and yep. I’m in after the zot.
