On CNNs State of the Union Sunday, host Candy Crowley asked a question of Gov. Scott Walker (R-Wisc.) that should offend people on both sides of the aisle.
If I am an unemployed American
or if I am a minimum wage worker
why would I become a Republican? (video follows with transcript and commentary):

CANDY CROWLEY: If I am an unemployed American and I hear from Republicans that, Yeah, you know, we should go ahead and do that provided we do the following three things, and its a caveat approval of extending those [unemployment] benefits, or if I am a minimum wage worker and I find, I see Republicans who say, You know what? It's artificial, it messes with the marketplace, it might mean some teens can't get into the job market, why would I become a Republican? How do you message that in any way to reach out to those who are disinclined to sign up for the Republican Party?

Republicans won’t take your doctor away and make you drive two hours to get another doc.
That just happened to my friend. He is on unemployed and a severe diabetic, BTW.
Too bad the gentleman GOP won’t rub those facts in the kenyans face while he is sitting on the beach in Hawaii. They could already have destroyed the Dem brand for a generation but instead are playing bystander to history.
Dunno. To get a job?
Considering the current state of the pro-Obamacare, pro-Amnesty, pro-Crony Corporatist Republican Party why would anyone want to join it.
If Im Unemployed or on Minimum Wage, Why Would I Become Republican?.
Because the democrats have been in control for the last five years it’s why your in this mess time to fix it.
Why would I watch CNN if I had more than three brain cells?
She was asking that question to a Republican Governor who DID do something to ease the tax and regulatory burden. He clearly made it better. Instead of that question, the woman should have turned to herself and ask how a journalist can ask such a stupid and biased question.......
I didn't read what Walker answered, but that's how Cruz would have fired back.
The problem is that there isn’t any will to do anything real on a national level.
If you like being unemployed or feeding a family on minimum wage, the democrat party is for you. If you would like to get a job or increase wages, conservative economics is what you should vote for. As Reagan said, we can’t evaluate success by how many are on government assistance but by how many move off it.
Which sounds great but what does that mean to the 50 year old who has been looking for a job for months and just lost their unemployment? He says "we're going to make it easier..." What can he point to that Congress has done to currently make it easier?
If you were happy with that, then by all means stay stupid.
Bingo.
The GOP needs to be for American jobs.
Not Chinese jobs. Not foreign jobs.
American jobs.
I’d say she tipped her hand on the democrat agenda - keep people unemployed, on welfare or working for min wage and you’ve got permanent supporters.
Stop sending American business to China............................. I believe its more, its the selling of businesses to China. They buy the whole package, including the brand names. The only way we can compete is to sell them our unions. But I don’t think they’d be interested in having them, because they don’t want to lose their businesses.
Agreed. Most of the so called GOP has become a bystander to a historical movement of total ruination, muzzled and neutered by a virulent MSM.
Easily understandable coming from her.
When in your life, Candy, did you ever see a free meal that could pass on?
Scott Walker hasn’t talked to the right people. Lots of people immigrate to America to live off the government.
She did, but that won’t matter if no one says anything to her. The vacuum is silent.......
...to become employed and earn more than the minimum wage, you Mallo-cup devouring harridan.
Unions are an offshoot of Communism. You can’t employ communists to run a business in a capitalist system.
I worked for minimum wage when I was 14 at a grocery store. After 3 months my pay was raised 25 cents. By the time I was 18, my hourly wage was 3 dollars above minimum wage. It is crazy how that works. /sarc
