CASSELTON, N.D. — A mile-long train carrying crude oil derailed just a mile before it would have cut through the heart of a small North Dakota town, shaking residents with a series of explosions that sent flame and black smoke skyward. No one was hurt, but officials were evacuating as many as 300 people as a precaution.

But remember, pipelines are evil and a threat to the environment.

This spill is a direct result of 0bama’s eco-wacko policies, the eco-wackos and the EPA.

Damn good thing we have those safe Buffet trains carrying the highly toxic and flammable crude oil on high priced rail in lieu of the Keystone Pipeline.

Our rails are in piss poor shape for the use they are being put to.

Years od lax maintenance has made rail travel dangerous.

Obama loves this stuff. It’ll eventually give them an excuse to severely curtail or shut down transport of the evil crude oil.

Apparently it ran into another train? I don’t think that “just happens” often.

BNSF spokeswoman Amy McBeth said the train carrying grain derailed first, then knocked several cars of the oil train off adjoining tracks.

Looks like Warren Buffet is the primary responsible party here.

I’ll bet it was on the way out here to Anacortes WA. We get one of these trains daily (100 cars) and about a mile long. Originally Tesoro was supposed to refine the oil, but it produced too high pressures in the cracking unit and is therefore exported by ship to other refineries now. (No idea where, but it is loaded on supertankers.)

So yes, Buffett has the market on rail shipping to our “friends” somewhere on the Pacific. China would be my guess.
