MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The runner-up in the Minneapolis mayoral election is recovering after being robbed and brutally beaten Thursday night at the Mall of America.
Mark Andrew, 63, was at a Starbucks inside the mall at around 7 p.m. Thursday when a man grabbed his phone off his table and ran off.
When Andrew went after him, he was tackled by two teenage girls – aged 18 and 17 — one of which began beating him with a billy club. During the attack, they told Andrew, “We’re going to kill you,” police say.
Andrew was left with a large gash on his head that required nine stitches. He has since been released from the hospital.

Steve Martin apologizes for satirizing names such as Letajia
(CNN) — In days of yore, comedian Steve Martin said he used to try out jokes in clubs and adjust them based on an audience’s feedback.
“Today, the process is faster. It’s your brain, a button, then millions of reactions,” he said on his website.
Martin was writing Monday to explain himself after sending a tweet that, by his own admission, was “unfortunate.”
“To those who were offended, again, I offer a deep, sincere, and humble apology without reservation,” he wrote. “But I feel I need to tell you the context and origin of the joke.”
The storm started Friday when he invited people to ask him grammar questions on Twitter.
Someone wrote, “Is this how you spell lasonia?” to which Martin replied: “It depends. Are you in an African-American neighborhood or at an Italian restaurant.”
They had 35 people running for mayor in Minneapolis?
Why the hell would anybody in their right mind, set foot inside a Starbucks, except to use the phone....
Oh wait, they don't have public phones anymore.

For those who were asking for a description of the perps, why do they need a description? It is smply a matter of “mis-guided youths” and when we read that, what race comes up immediately. All you need to do is read the story headline and you have your description.
As far as Starbucks coffee shops go, anyone shopping there deserves to be mugged.
Does it matter? He was minding his own damn business and got the crap beat out of him! Liberal or Conservative have zero to do with the story. No one deserves this.

Wow, and that was inside the mall. Think how uncivilized they would be out in the wild (the parking lot).
Do the police reports still give the addresses of those arrested?
Maybe that would be a valuable tool for folks who would like to send the perps lots of fan mail...telling them what worthless pieces of crap they are.

Actually, they probably realize there is a better chance of them getting shot by their victims out in the parking lot.
I hope there is a trend with regard to blacks beating white politicians. One of the beaten politicians may get angry enough to become a leader against the ongoing Third World conquest of America. I mean after all one can still hope.
So far there have been no reports of black mobs storming government buildings and lynching white politicians. At present blacks seem excited enough to start beating the hated white,(the knockout game.) home invasions are mounting and soon there will be actual lynchings. The coming Social War will be “a beaut” and right now it looks like the whites will lose.
Maybe a few Conservatives are liberals who have been mugged, but it is my experience that even after being beaten, robbed and even raped, they are still liberals.

On the plus side, thinking like I am here does bring some retail back to hometowns.
OK. I have Concealed carry in Minnesota. I’m sitting at the table, armed.
A guy grabs my phone and runs. No threat of bodily harm. No fear of death. Suspect leaving the scene quickly.
I don’t draw. I don’t shoot.
I run after him, probably leaving the Starbucks and go into the common areas of the MOA.
I am attacked by two, one with a weapon in the form of a club. Threatening statements are made that they mean to kill me. Deadly force is authorized against a fear of imminent death or great bodily harm.
I draw my weapon, and I take aim.
Who will I hit other than the assailants in the busy mall common areas? I’m assuming I hit the assailants.
This is the scenario that I want the least. Therefore, I learn a lesson.
Don’t go to the Mall Of America. I would not want to defend myself and accidentally shoot an innocent person.
This may not happen, but I don’t want the hassle. Large crowds and self-defense make for difficult decisions sometimes.
What would you other concealed carry licensees recommend? I would really like some input?

Guess you could think of his experience as an "attitude adjustment".
I am NOT saying he deserved it. I’m wondering if he will still be a liberal in the aftermath of this incident.
Based on the some of the info, it sounds to me that he is a hard core lefty.
I’m betting he is blaming himself (at least publicly) for what happened.
