Maybe I'm cynical but is this "Grandpa Phil" controversy part of a plot to introduce millions to the "Ducks"?
This is what A&E is doing for Christmas:
"A&E may have given "Duck Dynasty" star Phil Robertson the heave-ho when they suspended him from future episodes of the show last week, but the network is still welcoming him home for holidays.
The channel is celebrating Christmas with a staggering 25 consecutive episodes of their No. 1 show, beginning at 3:30 p.m. on Christmas Day and running until the wee hours of Dec. 26.

Talk/post about distractions! It seems 1/3 of all FR posts, even, are about DD.
This faux fiaso has been going on highspeed for a solid week. Even the WH is loving it, because Obamacare/healthcare.gov are not the major headlines of the week.
That is because the DD kerfuffle is a battle front/line drawn between Liberals/Atheists and Conservatives/Christians/Jews in America.
As Admiral Yamamoto said of Pearl Harbor, perhaps they (the enemy of America) has awakened a sleeping giant.
That giant is conservative America. And it is waking up.
Worth the time invested.

Not that it matters a whit but on Jan. 15, 2014 the fifth
season of Duck Dynasty begins. That pretty much reaches
the prediction that Phil made sometime back about the show
may be running five seasons or so.
Season 5?

You can tell how much I watch DD.
[I did watch about 1 minute of one episode once upon a time.]
Don't seem to have much time for TV when I'm home. It seems I watch more TV in hotels when I'm traveling for work.

Tom, this is an important skirmish in a much bigger war for the heart and souls of America. It speaks to the very reason for the existence of this website and this community.
Ignore the celebrity/entertainment connection and recognize that Phil Robertson is standing up for truth and everything good about our American traditions.
For my part, I hope this thing gets ten times bigger. It's way past time the decent majority in this country stood up to the perverted left and drove them back to whatever hell they came from.
That'd be awesome ... he's halfway there already!
