A River North sandwich shop fired its 20 employees Sunday night via email.

The firings were effective immediately for the workers at Snarf’s Sub Shop at 600 W Chicago

No...they will apply for their jobs back and they will accept them at minimum wage. Then they’ll walk in a circle with a sign on a stick demanding twice the amount of money they just agreed to. Then we can ask the question: Well, if you didn’t think minimum wage is fair, why did you agree to that rate of pay int the first place?

If the owner(s) of Snarf's is/are stupid enough to hire the same bunch back he/they deserve to be picketed.

Heh. Check this out. 360 burgers per hour. Put that together with the ordering kiosk and you replace *all* the boobs. You just need someone to sweep the floors, wipe the tables and clean the head once in a while.

But the firings come a few weeks after Snarf's workers participated in the "Fight for 15" rally, seeking higher wages. A Facebook post on Dec. 5 striking workers outside the restaurant with the caption, "Snarfs SHUT DOWN! #strike victory!"

The protesters should pool their money, open a small restaurant and pay their workers a hundred bucks an hour...It might seem high, but they can offset the costs by charging $300 for french fries. I can see it in their faces... they know it'll work.
