A&Es suspension of Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson will apparently not affect new episodes of the show scheduled to start airing after the holidays on January 15th. Entertainment Weekly is citing sources close to the situation who say that when the show returns from hiatus, footage featuring Robertson, who caused a major uproar with his condemnation of homosexual sex in GQ magazine, will remain intact.
Theres no negotiation to have; were doing the show, the insider told EW. Well figure out a solution...

Well then, thats not much of a suspension is it?

Depends upon when the new filming begins:

“We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ,
which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck
Dynasty,” A&E parent A+E Networks told E! in a statement.
“His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong
supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The network has placed Phil under hiatus
from filming indefinitely.”

Having read the link at post 57 posted by TennTuxedo I believe Cracker Barrel is supporting the Robertsons.
HANG ON Y’ALL..Those episodes were already taped prior to his comments.
All they’re doing is running with what they already have. He’s still suspended for any new tapings.
That said, if A&E had any b*lls, they’d sh*tcan the new season since they’re so concerned and stuff.
But they won’t. Too much money to make off them.
Not yet sparky. These episodes were already in the can.
the suspension is still in effect.
Pajama boy does have a name...PJ O’Dork.
The entertainment trades stated (quoted here on FR, wish I had the link) that Phil Robertson wanted to break contract with A&E already.
The Robertsons are already successful, and very cagey - they HAVE to be in order to achieve their success. They would not allow Phil to make a loose-cannon statement without knowing its repurcussions.
Like I said, follow the money.
I think whoever sent out the edict to remove Duck Dynasty products perhaps didn’t know to also request they pull Duck Commander products. In other words — an oversight.
CB’s press release was quite clear that they are NOT supporting Phil
“We removed selected products which we were concerned might offend some of our guests while we evaluate the situation, Cracker Barrel said in a Facebook post. We continually evaluate the products we offer and will continue to do so.
Another post I saw said they were pulling any DD product that had Phil’s picture on it. I was willing to give CB the benefit of the doubt they were standing with Phil by removing the A&E items and keeping the Duck Commander items.
In 2000 his kids looked like a bunch of Abercrombie models.
I’m frankly suspicious of the entire schtick.
To make them higher than #1? Makes sense to me (not).
I really liked their hashbrowns, guess I’ll have to make them myself.
“Well then, thats not much of a suspension is it?”
A&E’s “morals” have run up against their “wallets,” and the wallets are winning.
I just imagine that Walt Disney is spinning in his grave over the moral depravity of the people who have taken over his once proud company.
Coincidental mistakes usually--usually--result in a loss of profit. This "mistake" has made DD a brand which is known by everyone...and its loyal followers are more intensely loyal than ever.
To think this was not planned by A&E might, just might, be a bit too innocent.
When the gator was on Phil’s property and he said he needed to interact otherwise (if I recall the correct words) “tomorrow’s headline will be ‘gator eats local chubby woman.’” That was priceless. It shows the remarkable bond he has with Miss Kay. All the best to his family.
I’m not watchin a&e ever again. I’ll get my DD fix from youtube as the episodes come out. I’ll continue to not ever have eaten at CB.
Phil took our viewpoint straight into the lion’s den - GQ, Esquire are all faggotry - and broke the PC stranglehold the lavender mafia has had on all of us for the last 10 years.
Newcomers to the show watching on a&e might be lured back to the light.. that’s the only silver lining in this, and it may be a big one in the long run.
The way I see this whole drama is that the gay peeps are furious that Mr. Robinson spotlighted with a very bright light onto the “act” itself. This is what has their panties in a twist, IMO.
