>>Here comes da Jesse and da Al!!<<
I loves me a minstrel show!
Not going to pile on with flames, just want to let you know that I had exactly the same experience as Phil did in southern cotton fields.
I'm 68, I believe Phil is 65 or so, anyway, it was the same era. Poor whites, (Phil refers to himself as "white trash"), worked in the same cotton fields as black people, shared the same poverty and working conditions etc. I too, never once heard any black worker complain about their treatment at the hands of "whitey".
The sharptons and Jacksons of the world may never have had those same experiences. It was about class, rather than skin color and that's why Phil chose the words "white trash". To some, by no means all, white people with money used the term "white trash" against poor whites, against poor blacks and all I knew were poor, they simply used the word "nigger", as if that was enough said and one could just assume that they were trash too.
I had an advantage that I had Christian parents and was taught that I should try real hard to love everybody, regardless of skin color, because that's what Jesus did. Phil seems to come from the same back ground, even though he admits he had a "sinful" period himself. Who hasn't?
“Song of the South” is surprisingly available in the South.

Wow, I didn’t know you could still buy it. :)
My now deceased Grandfather in-law worked the cotton fields...as a white boy alongside other whites and blacks...they made it the best they could since they were all pretty much in the same situation...picking cotton for a few cents pay each day.
I figure you could either grumble and bitch about things or you could find the pony in the room so to speak and be thankful for what you do have...seems like they chose the latter.
I keep thinking if only a wealthy conservative would fund a cable station, and run things such as Duck Dynasty and other worthwhile and normal shows, it would really work out well.. ah, well...
...and right on to the next big media contract.
BTW: if buying a Robertson-branded duck call, what percentage goes to the Robertsons and what percentage goes to A&E?
They are completely in the driver’s seat, God bless them.
Isn’t Glenn beck offering to sign them up?
Da Camptown Races...
INHO, the whole thing is being orchestrated from our Resident Evil. Those who will not worshio him will be persecuted..
One is Duck Commander, a 100%, and one is Duck Dynasty, an unknown percent.

Maybe then they can duck themselves!
Phil Robertson is quickly becoming a national hero. The Boycott A & E page to reinstate Phil FB page has 686,000 likes just since this morning. Amazing!!!!!
I hope the bolt from A & E, as it hurt the A& E bottom line, and go to CMT or CBN.

There was also "Song of the South", a record made by the group Alabama written by Bob McDill, who also wrote "Good Ole Boys Like Me". I used to like both Alabama and McDill until I studied the lyrics of "Song of the South":
Well somebody told us Wall Street fell But we were so poor that we couldn't tell. Cotton was short and the weeds were tall But Mr. Roosevelt's a gonna save us all. Well momma got sick and daddy got down. The county got the farm and they moved to town. Pappa got a job with the TVA He bought a washing machine and then a Chevrolet. Both Alabama and Bob McDill are dead to me now for their praise of the satanic Roosevelt, the thoroughly evil creature who paved the way for the likes of obama, with commie giveaway programs. And, as for the TVA, it's a thoroughly corrupt marxist outfit depriving private industry of providing energy with efficiency.
The movie "Song of the South" is good but the song of the same name is an unadulterated travesty. In my estimation, they've banned the wrong one.
