Rush Limbaugh's radio tirades will have a new home on Los Angeles airwaves next year.
KFI-AM (640) is losing the conservative host's three-hour show, long a fixture on the station, to KTLK-AM (1150), which owner Clear Channel is hoping to pump up as an outlet exclusively dedicated to right-leaning chatter.
The company, which also owns KFI, will use Limbaugh's audience to anchor the new lineup for KTLK, which is being dubbed "The Patriot" and will also feature national shows by Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity.
Clear Channel is making similar changes in San Francisco, where Limbaugh will leave its KKSF-AM (910), and move to KNEW-AM (960), which is also retooling its lineup as a destination for conservative audiences. The changes are set to take effect for the first broadcast of 2014.

KTLK has more than decent coverage. It’s 50,000 watts AM. At night (44KW) you can pick it up in Phoenix.

Does 1150 go all the way from San Diego to Vegas like 640? If not, it might be a good deal for the owners of Ktlk, but not for Rush IMO.
Same here..we are outside of LA and KFI was a blowtorch of a station. No problem getting reception, now with the change, time will tell.

Handle and Bill Carol are a couple of leftist dweeb...Won’t listen to them in the AM...McEntyre at 790 in the morning is light years ahead of both.
Looks like we’ll be spending more time in the morning with KTLK 1150 AM after Doug McEntyre.
In S.CA it’s AM 790 with Doug McEntyre, then on to John and Ken on KFI after 3pm.

I remember how hard it was listening to George Putnam’s Talk Back on 870. I would endeavor to listen through the static.
He has a huge inferiority complex and not an ounce of grace.
Generally speaking he’s on our side, but listening to him is like walking on a field with land mines - you never know when he’s going to blow up on you. Why anybody would ever call his show is beyond me.
I hear Handle on the law on KTLK. In MN Am 1280 is the patriot [Salem Communications] and KTLK FM is 100.3, which is on a repeater so it can sometimes be a bit fuzzy, but you can switch to the AM dial - 1130 and catch it there also [KTLK here is also Clear Channel].
You may be pleasantly surprised.
I should clarify... what I hear of Handle now is a show called marginal legal advice - Bill Handle On The Law. I think we’re talking the same person here right?
I laugh at some of the garbage he comes up with on the show, kind of like a shock jock ridiculing people and giving them marginal advice on the law, then basically daring them to find better advice or go crawl under a rock (metaphorically speaking anyhow). It’s like hearing a train wreck occur over and over I guess (maybe it’s morbid curiosity).
