Could GPS rockets help put an end to high-speed police chases?
The new technology allows a police officer to fire a dart-like device from the grill of his cruiser. All the officer needs to do is get close to a fleeing suspect before firing the rocket, which then sticks to the other car with super sticky glue.
When that happens, the pursuing cops can stop their chase and watch where the criminal stops via GPS.

Ya, why bother pretending right? Heh.
If they use them against motorcycles, it could create a Seussian condition known as “a rocket in my sprocket.”
No police chase should involve more than two police cars doing the chasing.
I watch these things on the TV and the announcer says the car rips through the intersection with no thought of anyone coming the other way. Then we watch as the police car does the same thing.
BA-DA-BING! LOL!
Why not track them via the GPS in their Obamaphone?
One day everyone will have a mandated black box in their vehicles. The police will have access to kill switches and other monitors that will track every vehicle movement and the ability to turn off the car.
Or peel the thing off and stick it to a passing bus.
This is racist. Everybody knows that minorities are a disproportionate percentage of the drivers involved in car chases. /s
“One day everyone will have a mandated black box in their vehicles.”
One Day? OBD II is in all cars today. Through the auspices of “features” like On-Star (all GM vehicles), your car can be tracked. The feature that allows you to have your car unlocked means that they already have access to your car’s computer. Our two GM On-Star equipped vehicles get e-mailed “health reports” on a monthly basis. OBD III is coming, and with it, the ability to turn off your car is a fait complete.
BTW, both of our vehicles were built in a non-union plant in Monterrey, Mexico. That said, I expect to see you anti-GM “sheep” bleating about GM by return mail.
They’ll find the car, but they won’t find the crook - because he’ll be long gone - running on foot.
Meanwhile, a person putting an Obama sticker on their car and (even still, now) driving with it on, removes all doubt that they are idiots.
Big Brother is my co-pilot. bumper sticker bump
If they can hit the target with the gps dart, just eliminate the ‘middle man’ and hit the target initially with live ordnance.
And I'd like to have one on the front of my car to vaporize people who drive too slowly - especially on one lane roads.
Will it stick to a really dirty car?????
Back in the ‘old days’ we used to drop magnetic ‘clappers’ onto russian subs. They had to surface to remove them. Till then they were easy to follow!
“Wouldnt the impact crush the GPS?
Try dropping your cell phone off a 4 or 5 story building onto your car.”
Probably only damage the display.
Put that on Pay-per-View! Pure gold.
