WHY DID “UNNAMED SOURCE” FALSELY ACCUSE SENATE LEADER OF ATTACK ON TEA PARTY, CRUZ AND LEE?
Tea Party News Network ^ | 11.22.13 | Todd Cefaratti, Editor of TPNN

As vulnerable Democrats, realizing the inevitable, abandon the Obamacare ship to avoid being pulled under with it, Democrats are hoping that the Republican Party will similarly implode. President Obama, in conjunction with leading Democrats, has worked tirelessly to drive a wedge in the Republican Party by trying to pit moderate Republicans against conservatives.

While the Republican Party can certainly benefit from stronger adherence to principles of limited government, the call for a split of the Republican Party (and their power) is most prominent amongst Democrats who recognize that a divided party is a weaker opponent.

Recently, Breitbart News reported that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell had railed against Tea Party and conservative legislators in a conference call to donors. Breitbart reported that, according to an anonymous source, Sen. McConnell had ranted against the Tea Party and named Tea Party Senators Ted Cruz and Mike Lee by name.

The anonymous source also claimed that the principled Senate conservatives were “schoolyard bullies” that needed a “punch in the nose.”

What a “win” for Democrats!… That is, if it were true.

It seems that the anonymous source had an agenda of his own or otherwise misunderstood the Senator’s comments as The Washington Examiner obtained a recording of the entire conversation, provided by American Crossroads PAC. In the 27-minute long recording, McConnell spoke to donors and their advisers and offered a brief question-and-answer segment.

During this call, Senator McConnell addressed the Senate Conservative Fund (SCF), a PAC that has been routinely attacking McConnell as he handles crises in the Senate that maintains a Democrat majority.

The SCF have been relentless in their criticisms and Senator McConnell has appeared frustrated as he has had to weather the assaults from Democrats and those in his own party who seem displeased with the Republican leadership...

Doesn't matter either way. McConnell is going to be primaried by Bevins regardless.

The story should be whether McConnell will pull a Spector and switch parties because he's not going to survive the primary and I believe he knows it.

NOPe to GOPe

Perhaps, but be honest. The reason we believed this from the jump is because it is EXACTLY the kind of thing Mitch would say.

Would you please explain your use of the term "false flag" in relation to last week's TPNN article that I first saw this morning and could not find previously posted on FR? Thank you.

"Did we FReepers jump the gun on this matter?"

McConnell has only himself to blame.
He is responsible for his own actions which have made this kind of charge believable.

For his pandering to Reid, selling out any number of issues and seeking to feather his own nest he has acted the traitor both to his party and the nation.

“Senator McConnell has appeared frustrated as he has had to weather the assaults from Democrats and those in his own party who seem displeased with the Republican leadership...”

McConnell hasn't had “assaults” from Democrats. He goes before the cameras and talks tough, then goes behind the scenes to facilitate Dim successes. He votes “conservative” for the record and his reelection chances only after he has procedurally engineered a defeat for conservatives in the cloakroom. If Reid or other Dims “assault” McConnell, it is only Kabuki theater; they are actually delighted to have him as the opposition leader since he rarely “opposes”.

McConnell is Dingy Harry's Best Friend Forever and is deserving of contempt, not sympathy.

This animal is very wicked. It defends itself when attacked.

Probably. Given that there’s what appears to be a big discrepency between what McConnell was accused of saying and what he actually said, we need to know who the anonymous source was. Which isn’t going to happens. Do it could be Dems trying to sow further dissention within GOP ranks, or a Conservative looking to take a major shotvat McConnell.

I’d add that I’ve believed that the nuclear option had little to do with nominees a d everything to do with increasing the level of partisan bickering in order to distract from ObamaCare.

The important thing here is to understand that we always need to be skeptical and vigilant of accusations like this. We are the high information voters, right? People can oppose, or support, people like McConnell all they’d like, so long as their position is informed and supported by fact, not rumor, innuendo or cheap untruthful accusations.

We, FRiends, must operate on higher level and standards.

I for one hope to hell McConnell wins. We need to be united and first win back the Senate friends THEN you can purge whomever you want. If Bevins wins, don’t count on McConnell and company to support him, and in fact he might run as a third party.

Let’s stop being stupid. We should have control of both houses except for our stupidity when it comes to running candidates, mainly stupid candidates that the RNC thrusts on us.

I know I’m going to get flak again on this, but I didn’t think McConnell would make such a statement as wanting to punch Tea Partiers in the Nose.

So.

McConnell has been there too long, he needs to go. He is not up to the job.

Really? Remember John McCain and his rabid statements about conservatives. Keepin mind the likes of McConnell promoted him for president. This is a much larger problem than you are fairly acknowledging. We need to bring the collaborators to their knees, and of not now, when? When there’s no “America” left? Really, all I want to hear from RINOs is the “lamentations of their women...”
