It happens rarely. A taxpayer challenging the constitutional basis for the income tax wins in court, defeating the Internal Revenue Service, such as in the case brought by the late Tom Cryer, who was acquitted on a charge of failing to pay $73,000 to the government.
Now three members of Congress want to make that result the norm through a bill that would repeal the 16th Amendment, effectively canceling federal income taxes.

Woodrow Wilson and Sen Aldrich of NEW YAWK.
Abolish career politicians first: then there is no reason for a hopelessly complex, contradictory, and economically damaging tax code. And no need for Storm Troopers to enforce it.
This is the only way you can effectively cripple a tyrant; remove his funding sources. The liberals have kept the consevatives up against the ropes so long it’s refreshing to see them go on the defensive for a change.
Did the IRS help make that happen?
"In Cryers case, a 12-member jury in federal jury him not guilty of the IRS allegations..."At the time, he told WND that his argument was that income did not necessarily refer to any money that a person acquires, but rather limited categories such as profit and interest.
"He said the free exchange of labor for compensation has been upheld as a right by the Supreme Court, but that doesnt necessarily make the compensation income for tax purposes."
How is this not a national precedent?
trivia: Senator Nelson Aldrich’s grandson was film director Robert Aldrich (The Flight of the Phoenix, The Dirty Dozen).
Imagine the mass insanity of Marxists if it died. I might start a pool on how many commit suicide if it came to pass. The nation would be better off.
A sensible import tariff policy could replace the tax revenue from income taxes.
Cryer was a much more skillful trial attorney than were any of the Assistant US Attorneys who prosecuted the case. While the Court ruled against Cryer on his constitutional arguments, he successfully argued to the jury that "intent" was a necessary element of the crime for which he was charged and the prosecution had failed to introduce any evidence on that element.

Abolish the IRS?
How about abolish 80 percent of ALL gub mint?
Worthless bunch of leaches that they are!
How can it be when it doesn't make national news? Most of the people in this country are too busy watching circuses to notice invaders...
The easiest thing to do is cut off the funding. The rest will take care of itself.

As crazy as this initially sounds, it targets the right beast.
Flat tax.
Russia does it, 13% of all your annual income = your tax owed
Somehow it works - and it’s simple, so there’s no need for thousands of deductions (and a big bureaucracy)
and possibly help fix balance of trade (?)
That might also help keep jobs here.
