Obama: I need to 'win back' public's trust

President Obama on Thursday said he would need to “win back” the trust of the American public after the botched rollout of his health care reform law.

“I think it's legitimate for them to expect me to have to win back some credibility on this health care law,” said Obama. “That's on me."

Obama’s remarks came as he announced a fix that would allow insurers to renew health plans that fail to meet Obamacare’s requirements. Under the new health care law, millions of Americans were expected to be dropped by insurers and be forced to seek new plans often at higher costs.

The cancellations, which came despite Obama’s repeated pledge that consumers could keep their plans under the health law, coupled with the technical glitches affecting the healthcare.gov website, have hurt the president in the polls and undermined support for his signature domestic achievement.

I’d lend him mine, but I probably wouldn’t get it back.

I think these sorts of scenarios used to be called ‘black comedy’. What we’re now seeing in real life is harder to believe than something out of a movie, and ten times sadder.

So far no one from his own party has thrown him under the bus, the media is still giving him the best of coverage possible, he's still the pet rock of the progressives, Hollywood loves him, and they're all trying to make it look like he cares so much about this problem that he's going to fix it, legally or not.

Unless we see his popularity go below 30%, I doubt we will ever hear the roar of the crowd for this guy's job anytime soon.

Which means:

*sigh* Three. Long. Years....

I'm enjoying the schadenfreude watching the implosion of Bambicare as much as anyone, but don't think for a minute his destructive ways are going to be gone before his term is up.

IMO he jumped a purple polka-dotted shark today. Give the nation a couple of days for the shock and normalcy bias to wear off and this ought to get good.

Oh, it's already gotten good, but in another couple weeks, I think we'll all be bursting with optimism and good cheer.

What Obama, Pelosi, and Reid have done to the American people, is nothing short of historic. Nothing this egregious has ever been done to the people by their government before. The repercussions and fallout have only begun to rattle DC. It's going to get much, much worse, and I don't think there's a whole lot the Dems can do to stop it.

Maybe His Heinous will issue an edict that suspends all bad vibes toward him and redirects them to George Bush.

Winning back the public trust isn’t exactly what a lot of us have in mind for the dumb a... to do. Winning trust would be just too hard and out of character for the lying sos.

That combination of character traits in a wanna-be dictator usually results in a grizzly portrait that winds up in the history books. Zero obviously isn't a student of history.

Give it time. Soon enough, no one but his wife will be willing to defend him for what he's done to the country.

“Zero obviously isn’t a student of history.”

He’s not much of a student of anything, except himself. He admitted himself that he’s lazy, and those who’ve worked w him confirm it. He’s a slacker.

One thing about narcissists: they cannot tolerate criticism. Well, criticism or being made fun of. Obama’s not used to be criticized or laughed at. He’s not handling it well, guaranteed. It will only get worse. Guess that White Housing job was harder than the Community Organizer realized. As some have said, he may damage the Dem brand for years to come. We can only hope.

First of all, it was an incredibly dumb thing to say, after he straight up lied to the American people for years about this law. People might have even given him the benefit of the doubt if this wasn't personal.

Many of them are going to suffer personally because of the changes Obamacare mandated on the country, and a lot of them will die because of it. You can't "win back" someone's trust after being directly responsible for the death of their loved ones.

Well, it would be a big sacrifice.

My Model 29 is my favorite Firearm, and it is absolutely gorgeous. FR Gun Porn and it’s only Thursday.

I would sacrifice it for the cause if needed though.
I think Smith and Wesson made more than one of them.

In the long run, that may prove to be a good thing. Every day that he's in the White House it'll cause more long term damage to the DemoSocialist party. The public won't be able to get the anger out of their heads as long as he's in office, and it will cause untold negative effects to everyone politically connected to him.

The damage could be so severe that people will stop running for local dog catcher on the Dem ticket.
