I loaded doyougotinsurance.com and looked at several of their ads.
It is kind of strange that most of the people look like they are in their late teens or early 20s. Why would they be concerned about insurance? They can stay on their parents’ insurnace until age 26.

Of course, I discount the reliability of any website that is asking do-you-got.

I’m not sure if Rush has a complete grasp of the Employer Insurance market.
Our new plans may not start until Jan 1, but we had to enroll this month, so the plans we will have next year were already presented to us.
Absent some radical change, I (think) we know what our plans will be next year.

Another thing about those ads—it’s the woman who’s EXPECTED to be responsible for the birth control—not the guy.
Where are the free condoms and vasectomies?

True. However, I work at a large university that employs greater than 20,000 people. Heard through the grapevine that those that are in charge of employee benefits recently were required to attend some educational sessions regarding health care changes. The only thing they would tell us is that the changes eventually coming down the pike would be significant and that NO ONE would be happy.

Do you have to enroll every year?

Same here, but the costs skyrocketed. My employer actually called out every line item new cost, however they did not state the old cost. With some research, the items are increasing anywhere from 15% to 300%, but my employer did their best to make it look minimal. The reality is that it is skyrocketing....

I do expect there to be significant changes for the following year (2015). But they probably won’t be apparent to most people, I’m guessing, until after the 2014 mid-terms, by design.

We have to make elections to our benefits every year. Everyone this year was astonished that our elections were defaulted to “WAIVE COVERAGE”, as if the company wanted people to forget to enroll and accidentally drop their insurance coverage. Very strange.
