After negotiating with help of US secretary of state, French FM stresses importance of Israel's security concerns, says there will be no deal; US diplomats tell 'LA Times' talks will continue at least into next week.
France said on Saturday there was no certainty nuclear talks under way with Iran in Geneva would succeed because of major stumbling blocks over an initial proposed text on a deal, and the importance of Israel's security concerns.
"As I speak to you, I cannot say there is any certainty that we can conclude" the talks, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said on France Inter radio, noting that France could not accept a "sucker's deal".
Top diplomats from Iran and six world powers are in a third day of negotiations over Iran's nuclear program to try to end a decade-old standoff. The West suspects that Iran is enriching uranium to develop nuclear weapons capability. Tehran denies this.
"The security concerns of Israel and all the countries of the region have to be taken into account," Fabius said.
Among the sticking points for Paris, Fabius said that France wanted Iran to stop operations at its Arak reactor during the negotiations and said there were questions about Iran's stock of uranium enriched to 20 percent.
France has traditionally taken a tougher line on Iran than most other world powers and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has accused it of being more intransigent in talks than the United States.
Among the sticking points, Fabius said, was a call for Iran to halt operations at its Arak research reactor - a potential producer of bomb-grade plutonium - while the negotiating process goes on, as well as questions about Iran's stock of uranium enriched to 20 percent of fissile purity.

France is waking up. We are not.
The house of Saud is buying nukes from Pakistan. The expect us to support Iran
They do not side with them like Obama does.
“The house of Saud is buying nukes from Pakistan. The expect us to support Iran”
It’s about 50 years way past the time when USA politicians need to support ONLY the USA first, and forget the Middle East and China. Sorry if that offends the few that might believe that USA interests should be other than first.
Socialist France saves the world from the perfidious surrender of Obama. Arugula-eating surrender monkey.

This is amazing. The French are showing more backbone and moral considerations than the Obama administration.
This means that the POTUS is ready for a “sucker's deal” and is eager to let Iran develop nuclear weapons while France is not.
All of the “deals” reached by this administration have been “sucker deals” and who knows this better than Vlad Putin as he watches the US exit the world stage.
Dark Ages ahead folks. Thank you Mr. President for putting our heads into a noose.
Israel now feels like Czechoslovakia, 1938. Thanks Neville Chamobama. Back stabbing is how you survive.
Sounds great, on paper.
Of course that will crash the economy, create a power vacuum that will be filled by someone who more than likely doesn’t like us, and push gas prices higher than ever before.
Lots of pain when you drop playing empire. Not to mention the scramble would probably lead to a world war, again.
Kind of like the various bubbles in the economy. It will pop, the question is if you try to do it in a controlled manner, or just let it blow up.
What should worry us most in America is not a missile from a foreign state, but a nuke in a suitcase used either as a false flag by a foreign government to gain political and PR advantage, or from a state sponsored terrorist group.. All nations have grown too devious which is why we need to spy on friends and enemies.....but not on Americans.
Way to go France. While folks busy themselves with slapping you on the back, the years of (Western) waffling are about to pay off for the worst of humanity.
Let's all take a cigar shot of liquor break and congratulate ourselves...
Sad but true.
France has shown an amazing amount of balls and sense lately. I’m guessing that at least their LEADERS (not the great unwashed) have finally started to recognize that they are not all that far from Asia Minor (unlike the US) and they aren’t physically separated (unlike the UK’; their glorified-river ‘border’ was all that saved them last time).
“France holds the line”.
In other news, pigs sprout wings and fly. If you plan on dying, don’t forget your ice skates, and winter clothes because Hell has frozen over.
How telling. The French have more balls than Obama.
