The Idaho high school basketball coach fired after the school district deemed a photo of her fiancé grabbing her chest as immoral says she is discouraged that she was fired while her fiancé, the schools varsity football coach, kept his job.
Obviously, I dont want to see my fiancé to get into trouble but I was a little bit discouraged, Laraine Cook, 31, of Pocatella, Idaho, told GoodMorningAmerica.com today. They told me it was because it was on my Facebook account that I was being terminated.
Cook, the mother of two elementary school-aged children, was fired from her job as a substitute teacher and head coach of the Pocatello High varsity girls basketball team Oct. 21 after the photo, showing fiancé Tom Harrison touching her chest, was anonymously delivered to the office of the school districts superintendent, Mary Vagner.

The furor is completely incomprehensible to me.
That is but a mildly sensous gesture; he didn’t `grab her boob’, he placed his hand upon her breast & she clearly welcomed it. They’ll soon be getting hitched fer pete’s sake.
Maybe somewhat indiscreet but it didn’t warrant calling the thought police & having her fired, and yes, being obviously heterosexual didn’t help her case one bit in these PC-crazy times.
I don’t know. I was just saying why I think she’s in trouble and her fiance isn’t.
I have relatives and friends on Facebook. I am careful about what I post just like on other sites. I do not allow just anyone to be friends. If I do not know someone who asks to be friends, I turn them down. I get notices about listing my hometown and where I live now but I ignore them. People who know me know where I grew up and where I live. Others do not need to know. One thing I notice friends doing is listing their whole bd. That is a no-no to me and others.
But they can't discriminate based on gender. Firing her and not the fiance will very likely lose the lawsuit for them.
I have relatives and friends; we all have email, cell phones and the USPS. I still don’t “get” facebook.
I saw the picture on FoxNews yesterday afternoon. I am pretty certain the two boobs on the left and the right sides of the picture are the biggest ones I have seen in a long while.
Moochelle 0bama copping a feel from Princess Leia.
Except for the tattooed forearms, I knew a woman who looked a LOT like that, right down to the stogie sticking out of her unfeminine mug!
aside from the questionable morality of the pic and her posting it, it is such an unflattering pic... she never should have shared that pic—especially by way of social media...
She had just been shot and was grimacing not smiling. Her BF was trying to stop the bleeding.
That is fine but I am keeping up with hundreds of friends and relatives plus groups I am interested in. I use to write a lot of pen pals from this country and many others including Russia, Egypt, Pakistan, Australia, Canada, etc. I learned it was next to impossible to keep up with them. With FB, I can post one message and it goes to everyone. I do no expect answers to everyone of them but it sure beats writing individual letters. I see pictures of new babies, houses, etc. I love Facebook. I kept up with high school and college friends on Classmates before Facebook. FB is so much easier. Friends post wonderful pictures of family and scenery. I am a member of memories of my hometown. What a great idea someone had when they started that. It would be a sad world if everyone liked the same thing. : )
Phew!!!
At first I thought she was photographed at a Tea Party rally!
I distinctly recall a cell phone audio of the head of the NYC (or maybe Long Island) teachers union saying now that negotiations are over, a tenured teacher has to literally get caught f**king a student in the hallway to get fired. She said it with a high degree of confidence to a gigling teacher audience.
I don't know the situation with this other guy - but my bet he has union protections that a substitute does not.
Still, I did say in my original post that I personally think they both should be fired at any rate. I noticed you left that part out.
It’s my understanding that it’s about family and friends communicating with each other, sometimes after years apart.
Hey, wait a minute here, that superintendent is touching that man’s navel with her boob. That’s obscene!
I think it’s great. I don’t belong to FB, but my husband, most of his family and almost all of mine belong. Most of our family has moved to warmer climes and FB has made staying in touch much easier.
Didn’t ENDA just put an end to all this nonsense? Here’s how you use the system against them. First the woman needs to “identify” as a man thus making her actions homosexual in nature meaning they are now protected. Second, find a shyster to bring suit against the school for discrimination based on sexual orientation. Third, win lots of money, tell the supervisor to shove it up his Pelosi hole, suddenly “identify” as a woman again and head to a beach somewhere. See how easy that is. We’ll all be rich soon.
My daughter was in a school play. One scene has them leaving the stage and saying “Hurry, or we'll be late for volleyball practice.” Then they come back on stage with the female coach. As they are walking back onto the stage the coach says in a “whispered” voice to one of her players “men are so stupid”. I cracked up with the stereotypical reference!
Talking with my daughter she said the girl that played the “coach” is a lesbian, and ad-libbed the line! Too funny.
He could have just said he was trying to get his face in the picture, which would have been a less conspicuous way of achieving the same result!
Who is the busybody that “anonymously” gave the picture to the school administration? We can debate the wisdom of posting such a pic to one’s social media accounts, but the reason she was fired is because someone acted like a weasel. Further, the school administration should have just thrown the pic in the trash and forgotten about it.
