Please add me to the ping list. Happy to hear you’re both okay. God be with the Philippines.

Put me on the list.
Her family is on a farm near Babatngon, several miles outside of Tacloban. They are at the end of the line for power so will get it last. They live partway up a small hill which makes me hope for the best. The fields always flood, but the house never has. It has concrete walls but I assume the roof is damaged. Who knows?
She bought tickets this summer planning to visit in one month. What a mess she is in for. We were talking last night about paying extra baggage fees to bring lots of thrift store clothes and other needs.

I keep the names for a ping list on my FR profile page. That way you always have the names handy, even if you’re not on your own computer.

Just got 1st text message from Ormoc City. The guy that I hired to move my things with his truck says:
"we have nothing left here my son got sick my daughter is fine."
He is 30, married and had a nice "hollow block house" and a piece of property with a scrap business. The last time I heard from him, he told me they were lashing the roof, which WAS galvanized sheeting on a welded truss system. His neighborhood is/was largely bamboo structures.
Prayers for Leyte and Brian. Pics below are opposite corners, before and after...

Its amazing what damage can be done in so little time. When I see devastation like that I cant help but think of those poor people who will have to live through the tribulation. It gives a whole new urgency to spreading the gospel to those the Lord is calling.

We were talking last night about paying extra baggage fees to bring lots of thrift store clothes and other needs.Either that, or you could send a balikbayan box, but then again, with so many homes totally destroyed, I am not sure where they would deliver it.

We discussed that this morning and she reminded me the one time we sent one, it went by ship. She would probably beat the box there when she flies over.

Every time I go to the Philippines, I see people with balikbayan type boxes. I am sure many of them are overweight too.
