Texas Sen. Ted Cruz will be making his first late-night appearance
on NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno"
when he visits on Friday, Nov. 8.
The show airs at 11:35 p.m. ET/PT weeknights, but
it generally tapes at 4:30pm (Pacific Time),
and takes approximately one hour.
You CANNOT arrive later than 3:15 pm, however,
and even be considered for entrance.
So, use discretion about YOUR actual arrival time,
but getting there EARLY is always BETTER.
Any REALLY "hard core" FReepers can join us
as we arive there before dawn. ;)
I have been other times to see the Jay Leno Show and believe me it’s an all day affair starting very early unless you pre order the tickets.
You have to show up early on the day of taping around 7 am in the back of the NBC studios on Alameda Blvd. They handed out left over tickets to fill the seats. I am guessing there won’t be any or the line will be a mile long. If you are lucky enought to get tickets then you should return around noon and stand in line until about 5 to 5:30 pm when they start letting everyone in. Good Luck!
You have FReep-mail.
Thanks for your input, AngelesCrestHighway!
We also have successfully done this kind of thing OFTEN, and are very good at it. ;)
I was just in Burbank this morning for a “practice” run, and here is the most current information.
There are THREE WAYS to get tickets:
- apply online at http://www.tonightshow.com/tickets
- show up at the box office on the day of the event
- “work the line” of people waiting to get in.
We have people who plan to do all three, and it is our expectation that we **should** be able to have extra tickets for you as a result of these efforts.
Even with a ticket, though, you need to be there by noon, since they always give out more tickets than they have seats.
So, my advice is for you to start by applying online, as many of us have.
Choose only the 11/8 date (all four times), and give them a good “story” about why you deserve tickets only on this date: family coming from far away, love Jay Leno, dying grandmother, whatever... :)
Not sure if/when they will get back to you, as this is sort of a LOTTERY, but they often CALL to confirm your request before e-mailing you the tickets, so leave a phone number that you will be sure to answer.
We hope to get 10 or 20 extra tickets this way.
On the day of the taping, I personally plan to get there by 8 am, with a team of 4-5. The box office now opens at 10 am, and gives out two tickets per person until they run out. Today they had about 20 tickets to give out at 9:45 am, and only five people in line.
We hope to get five or ten extra tickets this way.
Finally, we plan to “work the line” waiting to get in — asking everyone there if anyone of them might have extra tickets that they would not be using.
We hope to get 20 to 30 more extra tickets this way.
Taping doesn’t start until around 4 pm, but you ought to get in line there by no later than 1 pm. (We’d love to have you join us at the box office, if you can get there by 9 am or so.)
Last time, when Sarah Palin was on, we have almost FORTY total “extra” tickets — mostly from the third way — and we didn’t even know about the online option!
So, we **should** have extra tickets for you, but now you know how you can improve your odds based on YOUR OWN efforts. :)
We plan to meet for “food and fellowship” at a local restaurant after the taping - at around 6 pm - and Senator Cruz’s people know where we will be.
Wink, wink. :)
If you FReep-mail me an e-mail address, I can send you details.
Thanks again,
RonDog
I understand.

Video: Palins appearance on Tonight Show
posted at 9:30 am on March 3, 2010 by Ed MorrisseyThe Right Scoop captured last nights canny performance from Sarah Palin on Jay Lenos
renewed Tonight Show. How canny? She manages to tie her treatment by the media to the mostly unfair treatment Leno himself got
from the entertainment media, a good way to gain the audiences sympathy. In fact, she gets a surprisingly warm reception for a Los Angeles audience...
;)
Thanks Ron Dog.You have FReep-mail. ;)Hope to make it with hubby from Santa Barbara.
:o)
There are a boatload of FReepers who will be there with you in spirit. That is the plan. :)
Not everyone can be in Burbank, but MANY PEOPLE can follow a thread on FR.From the OLD DAYS, when FR had a "thread view" counter:

requested 2 tickets........ hope I win!
SEE YOU ALL THERE FRIDAY!!
Excellent, 4Liberty! (You have FReep-mail.)
Please keep me informed as you know more.
I also applied online for tickets, and have not yet heard back.
Just so you know, we can almost certainly get you in even if you do NOT get tickets yourself.
If you FReep-mail me your e-mail address, I can send you details.
Ron
...from folks who applied online on Monday.
I GOT TWO TICKETS!!!!!!!!!!
Instructions say arrive “by 1:45 PM” to confirm entrance to event at 3 pm.
Hope some FReepers are there around 2 pm!
I may have an extra TICKET — if my Tea Party buddy can’t go.
WOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
We didn’t get our tickets yet, but we plan on being there by 9am.
I understand.
MY tickets have not yet arrived either.
We still have all day today and tomorrow, though, so think positive thoughts, and PRAY! :)
In the OLD DAYS, we were able to get tickets online, and we still got in.
So, you may still get an e-mail with tickets, but even if you do not — not to worry.
Judging from the number of people who **did** already get tickets online,
we should have NO PROBLEM getting everybody in who can make it to Burbank by 1 pm. :)
Still, it would be GREAT if you could join us “hard core” FReepers
who will be at the ticket office by 9 am, whether you get tickets online or not.
We want to be prepared with enough tickets for a MASSIVE TURNOUT!
HOO-RAH!
