Thanks for your input, AngelesCrestHighway!
We also have successfully done this kind of thing OFTEN, and are very good at it. ;)
I was just in Burbank this morning for a “practice” run, and here is the most current information.
There are THREE WAYS to get tickets:
- apply online at http://www.tonightshow.com/tickets
- show up at the box office on the day of the event
- “work the line” of people waiting to get in.
We have people who plan to do all three, and it is our expectation that we **should** be able to have extra tickets for you as a result of these efforts.
Even with a ticket, though, you need to be there by noon, since they always give out more tickets than they have seats.
So, my advice is for you to start by applying online, as many of us have.
Choose only the 11/8 date (all four times), and give them a good “story” about why you deserve tickets only on this date: family coming from far away, love Jay Leno, dying grandmother, whatever... :)
Not sure if/when they will get back to you, as this is sort of a LOTTERY, but they often CALL to confirm your request before e-mailing you the tickets, so leave a phone number that you will be sure to answer.
We hope to get 10 or 20 extra tickets this way.
On the day of the taping, I personally plan to get there by 8 am, with a team of 4-5. The box office now opens at 10 am, and gives out two tickets per person until they run out. Today they had about 20 tickets to give out at 9:45 am, and only five people in line.
We hope to get five or ten extra tickets this way.
Finally, we plan to “work the line” waiting to get in — asking everyone there if anyone of them might have extra tickets that they would not be using.
We hope to get 20 to 30 more extra tickets this way.
Taping doesn’t start until around 4 pm, but you ought to get in line there by no later than 1 pm. (We’d love to have you join us at the box office, if you can get there by 9 am or so.)
Last time, when Sarah Palin was on, we have almost FORTY total “extra” tickets — mostly from the third way — and we didn’t even know about the online option!
So, we **should** have extra tickets for you, but now you know how you can improve your odds based on YOUR OWN efforts. :)
We plan to meet for “food and fellowship” at a local restaurant after the taping - at around 6 pm - and Senator Cruz’s people know where we will be.
Wink, wink. :)
If you FReep-mail me an e-mail address, I can send you details.
Thanks again,
