Sen. John McCain's daughter says the tea party revolution within the Republican Party has left him in a state of emotional distress.
"Ive never heard him this depressed other than maybe after the 08 election," Meghan McCain said. "Hes so depressed, so down-trodden. The way hes talking about it, he's never seen it this bad in his 30-plus years in office."
Meghan, who describes herself as a liberal Republican, said she shares his sense of despondency.
"Were both frustrated with the idea that only the hyper-conservative wing of the party is going to represent the masses, said McCain, 29, who spoke to ABC News about her father and her reality show, "Raising McCain." The senator's daughter also said she was surprised by Arizona's senior senator recent comments that, at 77 years of age, he is considering another run for the Senate but not because of his age.
"My father has more energy than I do and I legitimately say that, so its not his age, it's just the idea of having another dirty tea party election," she said.
But she says she has no intentions of ever trying to fill her father's shoes or run for any public office.
"Women have to give up so much to run for office, which maybe makes me a hypocrite, because I think more women should be in office," McCain said. "I always say, I want more tattoos and I dont plan on getting married anytime soon so I think those two things might automatically make me not eligible for running for office."

She wants more tattoos?
“She says she Wants more tattoos and to stay single and that must disqualify her to run for United States Senator”....
.......well Meghan, hmmmm, lets see, just off the top of my head your Dad
built a 3 decade career on LIES about his conduct as a POW, crashed about a hundred million worth of airplanes, lied about supporting REAL immigration control, supports arming Al Quada, is hated outside of Arizona by tens of millions of conservatives, has been an ambidextrous government paycheck grabber his entire life and LOVES BIG GOVERNMENT.
The only people dumber than you and your dad are the people of Arizona that continue to vote for him so all in all I would say that you, as a tattooed single woman could, like your dad, look forward to decades of being on the government dole as “the worthless US Senator from the once great state of Arizona!
“I am depressed and downtrodden because McCain is the GOP senator from my state.”
Me too, and I haven’t voted for the jerk since 1992, before he changed parties.
Mark my words:when Mcains handlers tell him he can’t get re-elected, he will flip and say he is joining the liberals.
Hell, it might happen even before that. I see him turning coat before he retires.
I believe McCain has had personality problems for years. It would be easy to attribute such to his war tragedy but if you review his life especially his political life you can see a man driven by personal compulsions not entirely for the people who he conned into voting for him.
Good.
With any luck he’ll off himself.
“his 30-plus years in office.”
The Tea Party isn’t the problem!
Boohoo, McDemocrat. The Tea party lives rent free in the that pea brain.
Don’t worry your puffy big head Meghan. When Juan dies you can quit pretending to be anything other than a fanatical Obama sycophant, or you can do it now, and be just like daddy, half of a halfwit, narcissistically ridiculous, and aggravating.
If McCain is depressed we must be doing something right......Maybe we should get Ted Cruz to call him up!!!
Yeah, well, couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.
He spent over 5 years in the Hanoi Hilton—this should be a cakewalk!
McCain wanted war with Syria.
He wanted to support al Quada affiliates.
He supports amnesty.
He votes for profligate spending beyond the nation’s means to repay.
He supports the opposition.
I merely want sound financial principles, an attention to our national security, an obedience to the Constitution, and free and fair elections - one person, one vote, one time.
I support finding the lawbreakers and prosecuting them, whatever their political affiliation. I support limited government which does not intrude on my private life. I want the right to make mistakes as I seek my path through life.
John McCain stands in the way of all of this, along with the current administration.
May his melancholia disable him and cause him to return to private life, where he can regain his happiness according to his own inner lights.
And no more Clintons or Bushs, either! I have spoken. :)
P.S. Another ‘Cheney’ is acceptable to me, though. Go, Liz! Go! :)
That is soooooo cute!
