Sen. John McCain's daughter says the tea party revolution within the Republican Party has left him in a state of emotional distress.
"Ive never heard him this depressed other than maybe after the 08 election," Meghan McCain said. "Hes so depressed, so down-trodden. The way hes talking about it, he's never seen it this bad in his 30-plus years in office."
Meghan, who describes herself as a liberal Republican, said she shares his sense of despondency.
"Were both frustrated with the idea that only the hyper-conservative wing of the party is going to represent the masses, said McCain, 29, who spoke to ABC News about her father and her reality show, "Raising McCain." The senator's daughter also said she was surprised by Arizona's senior senator recent comments that, at 77 years of age, he is considering another run for the Senate but not because of his age.
"My father has more energy than I do and I legitimately say that, so its not his age, it's just the idea of having another dirty tea party election," she said.
But she says she has no intentions of ever trying to fill her father's shoes or run for any public office.
"Women have to give up so much to run for office, which maybe makes me a hypocrite, because I think more women should be in office," McCain said. "I always say, I want more tattoos and I dont plan on getting married anytime soon so I think those two things might automatically make me not eligible for running for office."

He can shoot himself.
That will be good for everybody.
I’ m depressed over the state of the GOP too, and John McCain is one of the big reasons why. Of course Senator Maverick will never leave and join the Dems. If he did he’d no longer be bipartisan and reaching-across-the-aisle. And he’d also have to take a back seat to the likes of Schumer and Durbin.
She's crazy!
Hes so depressed.
Isn’t depression a pre-existing condition?
Further, if that's what the masses want for representation in our representative republic! that's what they should get!
time to put McShame into retirement :-D.
haha love it!!

Well, if Juan is this upset we’d better tone it down for a while.
well do not hide his belt and shoelaces
Now you've jinxed it. Shush, shush...
She’s another one with a voice purely because of money and power, not because she has anything to say.
He’s gonna give nancy a run for her money soon.
I don’t really understand the need for being a “liberal Republican”. It’s like being an offbrand Democrat.
If I truly wanted socialistic policies, I’d be voting Democrat every chance I got.
Just switch to the Democrat party, Juan. Trust me, it’ll pick your spirits right up.
Ours too....
I guess it’s stressful when people catch on to what you really are. Maybe he now suspects the jig is up and he can no longer con the voters. Maybe he sees his days in the Senate are coming to an end.
I certainly hope so.
please juan, jump off the new Boulder Dam bypass bridge,
please
With the exception of two things, there’s no difference between Maggie and her dad. Sick of both of them.
