Law enforcement officials are investigating a threat against Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who was vaulted into national prominence with his push to defund ObamaCare.
A person identifying himself as Troy Gilmore Jr., posted on Twitter Friday morning: “Take down Ted Cruz, at his home” and listed Cruz’s home address in Houston.
“What goes around comes around CRUZ!!” the person wrote.
The author of the threat uses the Twitter handle @ArmyVet54 and identifies himself as having served in the U.S. Army and Navy. Sean Rushton, Cruz’s spokesman, said, “We’re aware of it and have alerted the proper authorities.”
“I can’t comment further on security matters,” he said.
At about 5:30 pm on Friday, @ArmyVet54 posted another apparent threat, urging that Cruz “needs tobe [sic] taught a street wise [sic] lesson”.
The person posted Cruz's home address several other times this month and repeatedly used threatening language.
The apparent threats are not directed at any audience in particular because @ArmyVet54 does not have any Twitter followers. But a search of Cruz’s name on Twitter can find them.
The Capitol Police takes all threats to members of Congress seriously.
“We are looking into that matter,” said Officer Shennell Antrobus, a spokesman for the Capitol Police.
Donte Jamar Sims, a 22-year-old man living in North Carolina, was sentenced to six months in prison in May after he threatened over Twitter to kill President Obama during the 2012 Democratic National Convention.
In June, a judge sentenced Jarvis Britton, a 26-year old Alabama man, to a yearlong prison term after he threatened Obama over Twitter.

And sadly I do think this is right. “Someday, Texas will be a blue state again”
Texas needs to get their immigration policy set and enforced soon or the nuts looking for work and lower taxes (but bringing the crap they are escaping from) will turn that state blue.
I worry about Cruz, Lee and Palin. I can see the government doing something then framing a “right wing nut”.

The left is morphing into a liberal fascist
movement whose thugs are cultivated and encouraged by the Obama administration and its thug in chief. This is a purposefully led evolution, not one wherein these thugs “just happen “ to be this way.
America has a difficult time realizing that we have a radical fascist culture poisoning our government and it is Obama’s task to bring this thuggish political criminal culture to fruition so that we have rioting and insurrection. There is nothing Obama would like more than to declare martial law and suspend all elections, virtually every federal department is armed and prepared to violate the People and the Constitution.
Even now,after all the jumped up, purposeful idiocy of the so called president, America cannot face the fact that it has elected a fascist, and the halls of patriot academe suggest that he be called a “coercive utopian.”
There will be a battle royal before we are shot of these thugs from the White Hut, and their little apparatchik thug operatives from ACORN and Obamacare “navigators”. Obama is preparing for his final Putsh in which he will subjugate the military and Congress and meanwhile, the MSM fiddles on like Nero in Rome. Obama is fast becomeing a dictator rather than a president of the Republic, a position for which he was legally, culturally, and personally unqualified: the so called president, a lying, slick talking Uncle Tom whose main purpose in life is to sell out and betray the American People and the Constitution.
Ted Cruz is a serious threat to these fascists and he needs our support and encouragement.
