President Obama is expected to nominate former Pentagon lawyer Jeh Johnson as the next Homeland Security secretary, ABC News has learned.

Johnson has called working for the Obama administration "the highlight of [his] professional life."
"I have been on an incredible journey with Barack Obama ... going back to November 2006 when he recruited me to the presidential campaign he was about to launch," Johnson said in a speech at Yale Law School last year. "I remember thinking then, 'This is a long-shot, but it will be exciting, historic, and how many times in my life will someone personally ask me to help him become president.'"

In addition, Johnson [..] helped write the 250-page report that led to the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" in 2010, as his firm's website put it.

Thanks for the insight. One of the great things about FR is its broad ranging membership with first hand knowledge and connections. It good to know that the fellow is sound and not a flake despite his Democrat affiliation.
There are bigger or more problematic fish to fry.
All we need to know is that Obama picked him.
He picks like minded fellow travelers.
Seriously, who he is makes no matter. They are all interchangeable parts of a Marxist machine that is hell bent on seizing permanent power over us.
Johnson thinks the President has the authority to commit the US to war:
"Let's not lose sight of the reality that in this country we have for some time entrusted the President with awesome powers and responsibilities as Commander in Chief; he controls the nuclear arsenal and he alone has the authority to use it; he alone has the constitutional authority, with certain limits, to deploy thousands of men and women in the U.S. military into hostilities on the other side of the world." Johnsons job will be to open our domestic institutions, malls, schools, campuses, hospitals, to Al Shabaz and other jihadists. They will do much of what we saw in Nairobi last month, and Johnson will be a facillitator.
These coercive utopians are rather easy to see through.
Your post no. 65 is disrespectful and contributes nothing to this thread.
Trash talk may be acceptable on other web sites; but trash talk on free republic.com shines a negative light on freerepublic.com.
Yess’m.
On this thread, only my comments were offensive to you? Good enough. Your posts were informative and timely, Thank you.
“You can call me Reh, or you can call me Jeh, but you doesn’t have to call me Johnson.”
Well, Cindy, it’s been a few days since you had my comment removed. What I have noticed from you, is very little personal public contact with posters on this site. Why is that your theme?
I’ve been quite busy.
Thank you for your concern.
A good day to you, Red Heeler.
