....... But while both Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the Republican leader, and Senator Harry Reid of Nevada, the Democratic leader, praised the progress that was made in the Senate, it was already clear that the most conservative members of the House were not going to go along quietly with a plan that does not accomplish their goal from the outset of this two-week-old crisis: dismantling the presidents health care law.
Weve got a name for it in the House: its called the Senate surrender caucus, said Representative Tim Huelskamp, Republican of Kansas. Anybody who would vote for that in the House as Republican would virtually guarantee a primary challenger.........
If Republicans arent willing to set aside their partisan concerns in order to do whats right for the country, we stand a good chance of defaulting, and defaulting could have a potentially devastating effect on the economy, Mr. Obama told reporters at Marthas Table, a Washington-area food bank........
.... Many Republicans have argued that if the Senate proposal passes with the solid backing of Republican members a possibility that seemed probable given Mr. McConnells support it would be an easier sell in the House. But with the country just hours from what could be a crippling default, many Republicans believe that Mr. Boehner will have no choice but to ignore his most vocal members and put whatever passes the Senate up for a vote.
Were now backed into a corner, said Representative Peter T. King, Republican of New York. We have to do this by Thursday. We have to make it work, but its not going to be perfect.

King can hardly wait to surrender.
This entire article is propaganda. They are going all out now.
Rep. Peter King fires Republican Cruz missile, says time to 'go after' Ted Cruz 'by name'
That fat slob King was Clinton’s biggest supporter during impeachment. After 9/11, which was Clinton’s fault, that shitbag tried to reinvent himself as some sort of conservative security hawk. He’s a fat bag of crap liberal and always has been. Can’t wait til he drops dead. Hope he suffers.

Also, as an American of Irish descent, his support of the IRA is disgusting and sinister. The IRA were collaborators of the PLO. For this scumbag to fashion himself as some sort if security hawk is a joke.
Wish somebody would call this triple chinned moron out.

“Sen. Ted Cruz met with roughly 15 to 20 House Republicans for roughly two hours late Monday night at the Capitol Hill watering hole Tortilla Coast.
The group appeared to be talking strategy about how they should respond to a tentative Senate deal to reopen the government and raise the debt ceiling without addressing Obamacare in a substantive way, according to sources who witnessed the gathering. The Texas Republican senator and many of House Republicans in attendance had insisted on including amendments aimed at dismantling Obamacare in the continuing resolution that was intended to avert the current shutdown.
Sources said the House Republicans meeting in the basement of Tortilla Coast with Cruz were some of the most conservative in the House: Reps. Louie Gohmert of Texas, Steve King of Iowa, Jim Jordan of Ohio, Tom Cotton of Arkansas, Raúl Labrador of Idaho, Steve Southerland of Florida, Mark Meadows of North Carolina, and Justin Amash of Michigan.
The group is a collection of members who have often given leadership headaches in recent years by opposing both compromise measures as well as packages crafted by fellow Republicans. And, it seems, leadership unwittingly became aware of the meetup.
While the dinner meeting was held in a private basement room, the group was spotted by Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., who was dining with some other members, including Gregg Harper, R-Miss. McCarthy is a regular at the Capitol Hill watering hole, and a source said he seemed particularly interested in what the group was up to.”

The GOP needs to pull head out ass. This is THE moment. Either they rise to greatness or they DIE.
Thank you.
I believe you are right. I cannot see a Majority of Republicans in the Senate if they sell out their base.
The saboteurs have already lost their base. About all they can maybe save is themselves.
With shennigans like those that got Murkowski elected, with the bare-*ssed lies McCain and the minimcains told to get elected, why would people who want change even bother with the Senate? The real place to win is the HOR, with even more constitutional conservatives elected.
I saw Harry Reid on TV yesterday and he could barely contain his smile. That said it all.
Thanks Cincinatus’ Wife.

Thank goodness for Ted Cruz. He is just what I’ve been hoping, wishing for: a conservative Republican who is articulate and can express his, and my, conservative principles (a male Sarah Palin). What surprises me the most are the number of Republicans who are fighting him.
I believe Kink (R-NY) sucked up to Billy Clintoooooon with a suggestion that Billy would make him Ambassador to Ireland! What a buffoon!
I do not think that boehner will cave. ALL of the real major Conservative pundits have warned them... even their best buddy Sean Hannity is talking third party. They do not want that any more than we do... but they know we will go our separate way if they cave... and we will too!
Greatness isn't in them... at least not anymore. Jeffrey Lord's American Spectator piece nicely places Ronald Reagan in sharp contrast to these go-along-to-get-along "Republicans":

I'm quite open to the suggestion that the GOP-e themselves believe that Ted Cruz may be "the next Ronald Reagan," based on the amount of energy being expended on eliminating him politically.
Mr. niteowl77
I think Hannity is being "edgy" to shore up his ratings. He's difficult to listen to for any length of time (has been for some time now) - just repeated rapid shot, rote listing of points and being the line judge (maybe more the ball kid) on the tennis court of talking heads.
I agree but he said it and that is a MAJOR milestone for the squish!
