President Obama’s meeting with certain House Republicans, Carney said, would not be a negotiation: “he’s not going to pay ransom to the Tea Party so that the government opens or the government doesn’t default.”
Carney blamed divisions among Republicans for the government shutdown, particularly blaming the Tea Party: “The President invited all members of Congress because he believes all of them shoulder the responsibilities…When it comes specifically to the House of Representatives and the House Republican conference, I think the president extended the invitation to all members because we have seen that it is a very diverse and fractious conference…a subsection of the House Republican conference has been driving decisionmaking…and that is in part why we have a shutdown.”
Carney complained that Obama had “sincerely engaged” by buying Republicans dinner. He said that “there is a subsection here that will only end the shutdown if [Obama] offers to resign.”

So the MOST ARROGANT ONE thought he was making some kind of concessions to the GOP by buying (some) their dinner? Like he even really paid for it, right? AND I am getting pretty dang tired of hearing from dems and MSM that it is just a bunch of right-wing crazies driving all of the push back on the debt and 0bamacare. How much would it hurt them to listen to and report on our side of the story once in awhile?
Well, not quite. Biden would have to resign too. Then we can talk about ending the shutdown.
I guess then that’ll make Boner the President, but I think at least he can be pressured to stay in line until we can elect a REAL President.

If Prince Barry has found the pressures of the job too much for him, then resignation would certainly be the honorable thing to do, and I applaud him for it.
Frankly, that would make him a martyr to his jihad. Cities would burn and the nation would take decades to recover.
If what is being done now does not work to bring the country to its knees, he might just do it.
In fact, given the profligacy of binging on this or that thing/vacation, I wouldn’t be surprised if this entire period doesn’t include that as a form of political self-immolation. He becomes the ‘victim.’
