CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A temporary increase in food stamps expires Oct. 31, meaning for millions of Americans, the benefits that help put food on the table won't stretch as far as they have for the past four years.
Food stamps - actually the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program - go to 47 million Americans a month, almost half of them children and teenagers.

Okay....for the 6,891st. time....the reason you DON’T do “TEMPORARY” hikes in benefit programs is because...
What’s the big deal? They can just go to any local school and 3 meals a day... FREE!
The raise they got in their food stamp money was part of a stimulus package. It was temporary. Guess they’ll have to give up a couple trips to the casinos....where they accept their little charge cards.

Not all of them. Some seniors receive benefits. I can see widows with children needing help too. But it shouldn't be government doing it. Less taxes means more money for charities to help those who actually need it.
So now our poor here in America will starve. I haven’t seen too many famished poor people in America unless it is at the hand of delinquent parents.
In fact, you can buy food stamps at $.50/$1.00 on the black market exchange. And that exchange is set up by poor people. Why? Because they get more than they need or can use. They turn food stamps into I-pods, computers, TVs and automobiles.

I know of a third grade class where none of the students understand it take money to buy food.
There’s an 0bamaCard for food.
Along with food stamps we need to cut back on Postage Stamps. In this age the Postal service is about as necessary as a side saddle on a hog.
