Ted Cruz Reveals that the Republican Establishment Despise Their Own Base

The Revolutionary War was a rebellion against Britain, but it first required a battle between Tories and Patriots. Ted Cruz is fighting for the honor of leading the conservative movement. The main goal is to give the American people a voice, defeat the Democrat Party, and take over Congress and the White House, so we can shrink our federal government back to constitutional limits.

The battleground of the moment is ObamaCare. But the first adversary that must be defeated is the Republican establishment. Is it any wonder that the Republican leadership is working to make sure the defunding effort fails?

Ted Cruz is pinning his ambitions to the big reality the Tea Party represents: conservatives really are fed up with both parties in Washington, D.C. The Republican base allowed Obama to be re-elected when an estimated five million of us stayed home in the 2012 election. It may not have been wise, but it happened for a very good reason: they didn't see the Republican Party representing them.

The D.C. establishment, and this includes both parties, is doing very well, thank you. The suburbs around Washington are the wealthiest in the nation. They and their families were untouched by the Obama economic meltdown. A huge government, spending a quarter of our nation's wealth, with almost half the populace dependent on their largesse, is good for them. It is not good for us.

The Republican leadership want to defeat ObamaCare, but mostly they want to use it as a campaign talking point to return to power. They are not willing to fight with all their hearts and minds to protect the American people from this disaster. That might be risky. That might not play well in this week's polls.

I voted for Romney, but it was the most unpleasant vote I have ever taken. At this point, I am completely done with the establishment Republicans.

We would be much better served by a smaller opposition party, made up of people like Cruz and Lee, than a bloated cesspool of hypocrisy and deceit. Next time I am asked to vote for one of these cockroaches, I will cheerfully decline. It is now blatantly obvious that they are every bit the enemy of liberty as the democrats are (with even less honesty).

That he “outed” this trash, is probably the single most important element to Cruz’ “filibuster,” and I’ll bet you it was on his “to do” list when he stood up and started speaking.

How soon they forget...had that been the rule of the day, Rand Paul wouldn't be a Senator today.

I don't agree because you can't unseat active Enemies of the Republic with weak tools. It didn't matter how mad we were at the Japanese on December 8th, 1941, we didn't send the Marines off to fight them until they had the right men, the right equipment, and a well-defined mission. The Republicans in office today are largely the same ones who allowed the Democrats to freely enact Socialist legislation in the first place - just how are they supposed to be the ones to fight back, now?

Rand Paul's larger point is the same as Reagan's 11th Commandment - "Thou Shalt Not Speak Ill of Another Republican." There is a time and place for that principle, however, and had, for example, the Tories in England held to it in 1940, Neville Chamberlain would have remained Prime Minister - and Britain might well have been defeated and occupied.

Rand at times sounds like more establishment GOP than American Patriot.

Voting for a RINO is betrayal of the most insidious kind.

The author states it may not have been wise for the 5 million who didn’t vote, but the jury is still out on that. I am inclined to think we have to have a little bit of hell to get to heaven.

Uh...did you notice all those RINO’s in the Senate earlier this week? If the vote is between a democrat and a rino...no vote, there is no point for a cold, lazy, and cowardly rino to take up a republican senate seat and voting for them has gotten us what?
